SO. Officially moving any new art to my tapas.io account for the time being. I've said this a few times before but now I'm pinning it.

You don't need your own account to view stuff, just to like/comment. I won't be offended if you don't. A tip if you've never used the site before, hit the "list" button to make the list on the side go away if its in the way.

The "General GF Comics" series is where most stuff is going to go. The other series on there are self-explanatory. I'll probably make a separate one for art that isn't comics too. I'm still uploading my back catalog so bear with me.

I'll still check back here to see asks and stuff, but if they're gonna be answered in comic form I'll probably post them there. I'll also probably post links to new comics, even if its annoying.

If you're not tired of reading yet, here's some links about why I'm doing this.

something else I really like about She Loves to Cook and She Loves to Eat is its display of gaining weight as a part of healing.

I mentioned in that other post that one of the main characters, Kasuga, was seriously discouraged from eating by her family growing up. We're shown images from her childhood as well as an image from when she finally was able to move out

Her unhappy and unaccepted childhood self is then contrasted with her modern day self in a small side by side as she talks about how much better her life is now.

(And just adding more pictures of present day Kasuga for everyone unfamiliar with the manga)

The topic of weight itself is never brought up specifically, but the look into her appearance of her past vs now alongside the assurance that she is both happier and living better in general these days gets the message across anyway

...if you want to know what the manga "She Loves to Cook and She Loves to Eat" is about, its about two adult women who live near each other in the same apartment complex

The woman who likes to cook is very passionate about her hobby, but feels misunderstood and fatigued at how others often paint it as an activity she could or should be doing for men (I.E. making food for a husband/boyfriend, or how cooking would make her a good wife and mom someday). Her dream is to be able to create large extravagant meals, but she doesn't have any friends or family who live nearby and doesn't eat much herself, so she refrains from doing so so she wont waste food.

The woman who likes to eat is a woman who has always had a big appetite, but when she had been living with her family in her youth the household operated under the idea that only the men should be encouraged to eat. The women had to prepare the food, but would be left with the scraps of the meal and couldn't ask for more. She lived in her house malnourished and constantly hungry as a result. Since moving out she is now able to eat how she needs to, but she still carries the mental weight of how her family treated her.

When the two women come together, they are able to validate each other in de-centering their relationships with food away from men, and feel more okay about just being themselves.

I won't be including a see results button here because it messes with the visual aspect of the percentages really hard. If you cant vote but want to see the results, you can look back at the poll when its finished in a week. Thank you!

Being worried about facing transphobic retaliation due to visible scars/lack of nipples/anything else (even if you aren't trans) counts as "still feel like I'm going to get in trouble", just to clarify.

And people who arent trans but have gotten top surgery are encouraged to vote too by the way!

It would SEEM that I may have been accidentally poisoning myself over and over with bad lunchmeat

cons: -I have been sick for like a week because of this -unsure what to eat for lunch going forward

pros: -possibly gained some poison resistance from the repeated exposure?
