trying to get better about using black, and drawing environments. I'm waiting for a pad of marker paper in the mail, then I'm gonna print this out and try coloring it woth copics :9

Previews for the four (!!) pieces I did for this year's zine de nuit with the theme of "tied & bound"
I wanted to try letting the inking stand on its own, and make a series of four related images. quite pleased with the result!

stop looking for "tutorials" about how to draw more realistically. you literally have to sit down and draw stuff you can see. then you have to do it again. and you have to keep doing it for years. NOt from a screen or a photo. actual IRL 3d objects and people. and if you want to get past a certain skill level the people you draw IRL have to be nude. I'm sorry to be the one to have to tell you this. you can accelerate the rate at which you acquire skill from this process by being taught by someone who is better at drawing than you are or reading the book or yes watching a tutorial. but you still have to take those techniques and use them to draw the objects and people from life to develop the skill. you can tell when someone has only ever learned to draw by drawing other drawings, photos, screens, and tutorials. their art looks weird and flat because they don't have the 3d information stored in their brain. it's the most agonizing thing in the world but you HAVE TO draw from life. im sorry
