All the paintings i have done for Nucleus Portland's annual postcard show opening on December 15th! The originals will be available to purchase there and then online (I'll link them to you once it's done) These paintings are memories from my summer. Lately I've grown quite tired of always painting sunny landscapes, so, i've tried to paint other mood as well. I hope you will enjoy them :)
While this might be a simple poll for many of us, Gazans do not have the luxury to sit and think if they like winter. The rain which swept through Gaza a few weeks ago washed away many of the tents which were situated by sea-side and thus destroyed resources that were acquired after months of raising funds. My friend Amal Ashour ( @amalashuor ) urgently needs to replace the soggy blankets and she needs to buy warm clothes for winter too. It is dreadfully cold right now and Amal is worried about her little daughter Mariam. She requires these funds to keep her daughter safe during these terrible months of winter. Additionally it has been hard to access any rations. A month ago when I spoke to Amal, she said that flour bags were costing around $150 USD- this has increased to almost $250 USD now!! That too at a time when Amal is not only bearing the responsibility for her own little family, but she is also helping out her extended family as well. So please boost and please donate to Amal's fundraiser. She is going through an extremely difficult time and is responsible for more than twenty people.
Please understand that Amal needs to provide rations and blankets and mattresses to all of her family members. It is a huge task and needs your active participation.
To the good people and the generous people, to those who rush to the aid of the needy and the distressed, I appeal to them to help me and save me and my family from death and hunger in Gaza.
I address my words to everyone, please pay close attention:
1-All the campaign money has been spent and now we are homeless because of what happened to us from the sea sweeping away
2-Don't look at the number the campaign raised, but think about how many people this campaign is spending on.
3-35% of the campaign funds go to commissions in Gaza, in addition to commissions abroad and Go Fund Me.
I am making this urgent appeal to you. We need 5k euros so that we can cover all our losses.
We need two tents, a bathroom, mattresses, blankets, winter clothes, the bitter cold, and carving the bones of children and adults. These requirements cost us a lot, and we are in dire need of you. I beg you to stand with us with all your ability.
