An ex-colleague of mine was complaining to me the other day about the ai problem in her students' papers, and I told her, "Just make your students hand-write them in class. Easy." She looked at me like I was insane and tried to explain how that would never work, but I just said,"That's how we did it for a thousand years. The invention of word processors doesn't erase all that."

To me it seems obvious. Readings are done out of class, handwritten essays are done within it. No more ai papers.

I give all my exams in blue books. A lot of my colleagues have started doing the same. The struggle to interpret student handwritting is worth avoiding the whole plagerism academic protocol nonsense.

Man of all the unexpected Secondary and Tertiary effects that AI Slop could have I think the best and funniest would be if it forced all schoolwork to return to being done in school and thus by necessity killed Homework.

Chai tea bag + lil but of brown sugar + apple cider packet + 16 oz. mug of hot but not quite boiling water

it will not Fix You but like. maybe. maybe.

Update: this is the best post I've ever made because everyone is sharing their Warm Beverage recipes in the notes. Go check the notes for more Warm Beverages That Will Fix You.

I had chocolate mint tea from Kroger, and used Stephen's brand mint truffle cocoa and........ It's so light and dreamy. It's so aromatic and tastes so good.

Yes!! I'm from Germany and I made so many of them! One time, probably 15 years ago at this point, I took a ballpoint pen apart and encased the inner ink thing (? idk what it's called) in scoobies. I still have it:

dude that's sick asf

They're officially called scoubidous I think, took me a while to find a picture of them bc of that fuckass spelling- but sorry hold on, gimp???

That's what we called it in my schools back in the day, at least! A quick duckduckgo search for "gimp keychains" is also showing results calling them boondoggle keychains?? Which I've never heard them be called before but I can't say doesn't fit in some indescribable way.

We always called them lanyards when I was a kid. If you try to buy the plastic string online, most of the listings describe it as "lanyard string." Here's one I started in high school and never finished:

It actually can't be finished now because the plastic has degraded and become a bit gross and sticky to the touch from years of sitting in a drawer in a room that gets really hot in the summer. I've considered trying to remake it with leather cord instead of plastic, but I don't have as much free time as I did when I was a kid.

I grew up calling the material - the plastic lace itself - 'gimp'. Sometimes 'rexlace' but that's a specific brand. I'm from New England (RI) and was involved in this hobby in the 1990's. I still know how to do square and round stitch shown above, and four strand round lace.

If anyone has resources for how to do the different stitches I would love to see them as I have unfortunately forgotten everything I used to know

Thank you! This is brilliant

In California they got called lanyard lacing

In French we call them scoubidou, and for a very long time I thought Scooby-Doo the cartoon dog was named after them

My mum called them scoubidous too, and she used to make them with her friends in the 70s, afaik they've been around since the 60s at least and while their popularity comes and goes, they've never really been gone at any point in time here, I always see at least a few kids with scoudibous hanging from their bags

Oh what's that? You only read books with lots of "spice" in them? Well then I've got a great one for you, practically the whole plot revolves around "spice". Ahem. In the week before the departure to Arrakis,

lots of people are tagging that "you can pay people to draw your ocs!" post with "I would but I'm so awkward!" and I am here to tell you as a person who used to do commissions of people's ocs in all sorts of situations, pleeease don't feel awkward or embarrassed! I promise they're not judging you, they're delighted to do this! we wouldn't offer oc commissions if we weren't fine with drawing your little guys. I know social anxiety is a bitch but commissioning artists is so worth it AND a lot of fun! if you can make the leap, you won't regret it :]

okay but is there A List somewhere. like where do we go??? for like different art styles/anatomy/settings/etc

what do you mean by a list?

A list of artists taking commissions for OCs on Tumblr ^^'

I don't think there is a specific list, it mostly comes down to seeing someone with an art style you like and seeing if they have comissions open.

I have personally got art of my dnd war cleric done by @beelzeebub and they were absolutely incredible start to finish. I've now got them for a second piece because I loved their first one so much!

But in the interest of getting some interest going to some super talented artists, lets tag some artists who people have got art from / tag yourself if you're an artist that does coms!

@evilghostwizard and @reedraws are both fantastic artists and a pleasure to work with :3

Honestly, I love it when a character loses everything. I love it when everything is torn from their hands, no matter how hard they grip it close to their chest. I love it when they sacrifice all they have in the pursuit of something else. I love it when it’s an insidious loss, where not even they have realized they lost it all until they wake up one day and wonder where it all went wrong.

I love it when a character loses everything.
