this post is making the rounds again and people continually add on "and nonbinary people too, and trans men!" and let me be very blunt i absolutely agree! my life has been made better by the trans men and nonbinary people in it, in a way i couldn't articulate with words.

tho to also be very blunt this post escaped it's initial purpose and meaning (in very good and sorta annoying ways). the original post was in response to seeing a series of polls from a popular polling blog where users were asked if they were happy to see someone figuring out they were trans, with a different poll about trans men, transmascs, trans women, transfems, agender, and nonbinary people. out of all the polls the trans woman poll (followed closely by the transfem poll) were mostly "indifferent" or "no" responses when compared to every other poll.

And to be honest I just really needed every trans woman to know that they make the world a better place just by being here with us.

Everything that you hate yourself for can be something positive if you just look at it right, remember that to improve you need to be able to envision a better version of yourself to work towards

sometimes i see the way people on this site talk about "binary trans women" and think, damn, if i didnt know any better i'd say some of you see womanhood as inherently reductive, the desire to live and be seen as a woman as irrational, and women as ignorant people who need things explained to them! but youre such a knowledgable and wise radical genderfuck, so surely you know better than me :)

The most obvious indicator that it’s just a way to repackage existing misogyny is that I’ve never seen someone say “binary trans men.” It just now has the added sleight of hand of tacking on a signifier of privilege to dismiss any feminism that makes them uncomfortable, the same way they try invoking whiteness against anyone espousing transfeminism (plenty of whom are, notably, not white!)

so i went to check the actual numbers to compare how popular these terms actually are and it turns out the "binary trans man" literally DOESN'T EXIST AT ALL. i wasn't expecting it to be so blatant but google can't even compare them because binary trans men apparently simply don't exist

both of these actions are not without strategy. both happen because the police wants to reinforce that status-quo and remind everyone to stay in their place or else. theyre going to use her as an example so no other civilians get the idea to protest and voice their rage
