What’s Jony Ive been up to?

According to a new profile from the New York Times, he’s been buying up real estate on a single block in San Francisco for use by his various ventures, including his design firm LoveFrom, and his secretive AI hardware project with Sam Altman.

E Ink tablets actually rule as daily planners.

I recently started using the Remarkable Paper Pro as a daily planner, but the included planner themes are pretty bland. Which is what led me down a rabbit hole and over to Etsy where people sell whole layouts (in PDF format) that put much more robust planners on your device. The fact that I can just wipe it clean when it’s time to start over and very cathartic — and convenient.

I don’t know how long I’ll stick with it, but this is way more phone than a physically separate daily planner.

It should not surprise you that Larry Ellison is about to own Paramount.

While his son, David Ellison, will be CEO and is the one with the real passion for running a major media company, film studio, streaming service, and a number of broadcast channels, David could not afford Paramount on his own.

And as was quickly confirmed with a FCC filing, it’s his dad, Oracle founder Larry Ellison, who is footing the bill and will ultimately own the company.

A man used AI music to defraud the streaming business out of $10 million.

The fraud was less about all the fake bands releasing fake songs created in partnership with an unnamed exec at an AI music company, and more about the many, many accounts he made to stream all of his AI tunes on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music in order to get paid.

Impressively, he was ahead of the AI hype. His scheme started in 2017.

The Remarkable Paper Pro is as outrageous as it is luxurious

A front light and color display are just two of the ways this pretty note-taking device puts luxury first.

Max’s hospital drama The Pitt is accused of being an ER ripoff.

And not even from the press! Besides Westworld and Jurassic Park, Michael Crichton created ER and his widow is now claiming that everyone involved in a potential reboot or sequel to the series instead boxed Crichton’s estate out and gathered to make The Pitt instead — including lead actor Noah Wyle.

Paramount will NOT be sold to the Seagram gin heir.

Edgar Bronfman Jr. did have some of the credentials to run Paramount. That’s why the heir turned film producer, music mogul, and chairman of FuboTV plus a group of investors made a last minute bid. Now that he’s withdrawn Skydance and David Ellison, son of Oracle’s Larry Ellison, are all but assured to be the new owners of CBS, MTV, and crucially to me — Star Trek.
