Barilla’s Valuable 500 Commitment:
We, at Barilla’s, want to overcome physical and mental barriers and raise awareness of visible and invisible disabilities: these are our priorities as we are constantly striving to drive innovation through the inclusion of different abilities and skills.
I pledge to actively work towards the continuous improvement of access and empowerment for people with disabilities, an ongoing perseverance that we committed in our previous pledge by developing a comprehensive action plan to increase inclusion in our workplace.
This action plan expects to form a Reasonable Accommodation Process, by 2024, throughout four main phases:
- Work with management to identify: key internal stakeholders that will be held accountable for this process and clearly define the purpose and goals of the RAP; cross-section of employees currently receiving reasonable accommodations.
- Meetings with Stakeholders: meet with identified stakeholders to obtain feedback on the current processes and with some disabled employees to understand their perspective.
- Design the Process and assessment of costs, scope and KPI: create a framework outlining the purpose and practice of the new Reasonable Accommodations process.
- Training and Communications: develop and deliver training for Human Resources Professionals on all aspects of the process.
