Prominence Revolt (プロミネンスリボルト, Prominence Revolt) is Pyra's up special move.
Overview[edit]
The attack consists of Pyra leaping into the air, before diving downwards and creating a pillar of fire upon landing. It functions similarly to other diving up special moves, though contrary to the norm its meteor smash is very weak. As a result, it is considerably less viable to utilize the move for a sacrificial KO in comparison to similar up specials, though its weak meteor smash can still gimp opponents with weaker recoveries, which is only practical if Pyra has the stock lead. On the other hand, it is incredibly powerful for a move of its kind onstage, being able to KO most characters under 100% if the attack is positioned right; this makes it a very powerful out of shield option, though it is extremely punishable on shield, to the point that nearly every character in the game can punish a failed attempt with a forward smash. Pyra can also drift slightly forward or backwards before descending, though it is possible to miss the descending attack after connecting with the rising portion if she drifts too far.
Similar to Kirby's Final Cutter and Mii Swordfighter's Stone Scabbard, Pyra will only enter a helpless state if she lands on the ground with the attack, but is immediately pushed off a nearby edge by windboxes, stage hazards, or fighter collisions while she is still in her ground-slam animation.

Origin[edit]
Prominence Revolt is Pyra's Level 2 Special in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. In the original game, the move causes pillars of flame to appear under enemies; Pyra also makes less of a leap into the air, likely due to the ground-based combat of the Xenoblade Chronicles series.

Trivia[edit]
- There is a glitch where if Pyra falls long enough while using Prominence Revolt, the three flames on her sword will slowly become detached. The glitch is very slow and isn't noticeable in normal play due to Pyra self-destructing within a second on even the tallest stages, however creating a stage with a series of Warp Zones will allow it to be seen.
