Applications[edit]
In high-level competitive Ness play, up tilt is frequently used as a fast option after L-cancel or Autocancel to preempt an opponent's out-of-shield action, but its high ending lag and low range can leave Ness vulnerable if the opponent opts to remain in shield. It can also be commonly seen in use for its ability to anti-air and to juggle.
