I attended the Alice Merton show @U ST Music Hall 10-17-18 with opening act Foreign Air. It was my first time in that venue.
Ms. Merton is an incredible live performer and while she said she was suffering from an asthma attack and felt poorly, I would never have guessed. She sounded great and commanded the stage with high energy. I had seen her once before @ THE DC101/Clearchannel Southwest Soundstage on her prior swing though town (Brief set for on the air 3-4 songs). I would go see her any time I can in future. She is fantastic, kind of reminds me of Tori Amos, Kate Bush, and Pat Benatar over modern dance/syth/rock songs. Well written lyrics, great tunes, and a fine band.Good stage patter.
Fresh Air , the opening act , was very good.
Overall a 10/10 experience. Heck sodas were even a reasonable 3 bucks (I don't drink)
It was amazing! Alice sang songs, I've never heard before, and her voice was great! Most of the people would say, the hightlight of the show was when Alice sang No roots, but I found the best Momoment was, when the lights turn down and Alice sat on her piano an played and sang Back to Berlin without any other loud instruments.
The only thing I wish: That Alice Releases the songs she sang in the concert, because since yesterday I always have that one Song from her, I think it is called Home or How many homes will it take, in na head and can't hear it again, because I can't find it anywhere and haven't recorded it with my mobile
Absolutely brilliant gig last night.
Alice's voice is incredible to listen to live and her band are immense.
The whole set had a great vibe and energy to it and the setlist was full of bangers.
Really looking forward to the next time Alice tours Glasgow, because we will most definitely be there.
See her now in small venues because after this, she'll be hitting the big stage. A personal and powerful performance, high on the danceability scale, with great songs and great sound. She's wonderful on stage and will leave an indelible mark on your heart.
TOP concert! ALice made us dance, jump, sing.. It was really fun! Incredible music as well.
Would recommend to everyone. People here in Paris brought their kids with them too. Great plan for all ages. Great signer, great group!
We did not attend the show due to the Strumbellas canceling. They were the main reason we bought the tickets to attend a show on a Sunday night on the North Side of Chicago when we live in the far southwest suburbs.
Alice Merton was amazing to be honest i booked this show only really knowing the Song No Roots but Alice really killed it, Would recommend seeing her again. Her voice and vibe really filled the room with energy.
This gal is a pleasure to hear in concert! I need all of the music she performed last night on a CD, please. Also, I think Alice and Vance should try a duet. Can't hurt to take a swing at it, right?
