  When Steve Marriot left the Small Faces 1969 its must have been hard to imagine what was to come of the iconic British band. In many people eyes Steve Marriot was a one off! A special talent, and I, myself, have to agree.

  Who would have thought that spilt helped create two new and equally formidable bands. Steve Marriot joined up with Peter Frampton and to create the band Humble Pie. And the remaining ‘Small Faces’ teamed up with Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood to become reincarnated as ‘The Faces’. An appropriate change considering the average height of the band had risen a good few inches with their arrival.

  The band became a huge success and were one of the biggest grossing acts in the early 70’s, They had a string of hits such as, ”Had Me a Real Good Time”, "Stay with Me", "Cindy Incidentally" and "Pool Hall Richard”. Despite their success, relationships within the band became strained by the mid 70’s, many fans believe his was largely down to Rod Stewarts solo success. By 1975 the band went their separate ways.

  Luckily for us there are many rumours about an upcoming reunion! Imagine that after 30 or so years! Great songs, Ronnie Woods jamming rhythm and blues riffs and Rod Stewards belting out his husky voice! If Carlsberg made bands……. it would possible be The Faces!
