Biografia

  • ODESZA is a must-listen EDM duo hailing from Seattle. Consisting of Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight, ODESZA derives its name from Mills’ uncle’s ship and the Ukrainian city Odesa. The duo met at Western Washington University before joining forces in electronic music.

A shared passion for high-energy dance kick-started a long-standing creative relationship that continues to push the boundaries of the electronic genre.

ODESZA doesn’t draw a line between old-school and modern sounds. Like Pretty Lights, Zoot Woman, and The Black Ghosts, ODESZA features beats from hip-hop, electronic, and tribal music. The duo’s huge range of influences gives it a fresh take on dance music.

In 2012, ODESZA released its initial album Summer’s Gone. Described as “a refreshing experiment” by Sterofox, it received rave reviews among the underground electronic music scene. A year later, the pair released the EP My Friends Never Die, before following up with a second studio album, In Return, in 2014. The record was an effortless blend of genres, and featured tracks full of vocal manipulations and sleek synth tones. Ultimately, it received credible recognition from music news outlets like Earmilk. In Return peaked at number 42 on the Billboard 200.

ODESZA’s 2017 album A Moment Apart left a memorable mark. Featuring exciting collaborations with Leon Bridges, Regina Spektor, and Naomi Wild, it proved the duo’s rising star status. These tracks established a strong relationship with diverse artists and redefined ODESZA’s signature sound. A Moment Apart showed off an otherworldly style with a 16-part track list. From top to bottom, the highly-anticipated LP laid the groundwork for the duo’s impending electro-music future.

Some fan-favorite songs from A Moment Apart appeared in video games, television shows, and blockbuster films. It was another grand accomplishment for ODESZA in pop culture and helped launch the album to number three in the U.S. The pair’s hopeful message through lyrics and booming synthwave became the soundtrack for many loyal listeners. It struck a chord with new fans as well.

Following the success of A Moment Apart, ODESZA took a much-needed break from releasing original music and focused on more collabs alongside popular phenoms. In 2020, ODESZA released its next LP, Bronson, recorded alongside the revolutionary Australian producer Golden Features. It was another chance to broaden the duo’s exceptional creative talent while staying true to its standout sound.

ODESZA’s comeback was long overdue when 2022 rolled around. Luckily, the powerful pair didn’t disappoint. The Last Goodbye was the fourth studio album in ODESZA’s growing collection. Top-notch tracks featuring The Knocks, Charlie Houston, and Julianna Barwick kept up ODESZA’s reputation. Despite its time away, the duo proved it hadn’t lose its touch. With light, happy, and heavenly tracks that captivated fans and critics alike, The Last Goodbye secured a number 11 spot on the U.S. charts and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album.

Besides a dream-worthy discography, ODESZA also kept its legacy alive with numerous outstanding live performances. Spots at SXSW, Firefly Music Festival, Lollapalooza, Circo Festival Australia, and Coachella sealed the deal on a stellar fanbase. Not only did it take America by storm, but the globe as well.

ODESZA’s energetic on-stage presence only gets better as it builds up a repertoire of sold-out tours. Vibrant visuals, flashy stage setups, and memorable setlists establish an incredible live show experience. Fans get the chance of a lifetime to join ODESZA’s journey into revamped electronic music.

The pair’s constant success and fast-growing fanbase have skyrocketed it to the top of everyone’s playlists. Thanks to constant reinvention, the team continues to reign supreme in the dance genre.

  • ODESZA

ODESZA are an American electronic music duo, the members are called Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight who formed together in 2012, a while before the two of them graduated from the same University. Their first album did extremely well and was highly noticed in the industry, it was called 'Summer's Gone' which I would recommend giving a listen to. As a child Clayton started out in Piano and learnt to play guitar, not really expecting to follow onto the electronic music scene but he clearly found a passion for it. The name of the band which may seem a little odd, came from Harrison's uncle's ship, which sank and meant that only his uncle and one other person survived it, they also say it's to do with the name 'Odessa'. It's a very quirky name, but not one that is very common for artists but I like their uniqueness. When performing live their act may seem pretty standard, but it takes a lot of preparation and I love the music choices they have used to mix in their sets. Not a duo you tend to hear a lot about but definitely a strong amount of talent in this style of music, I'd love to watch them live amongst a huge group to see the response they get. I think their music would be very popular in a club or at a gig of sorts, they have more recently been seen in areas of America, but if they ever come to England I will definitely be going to see them if possible.

  • Odesza was incredible, as always! Their visuals were absolutely beautiful. I can't wait until I can see them again! I am bummed that I won't be able to catch them at Red Rocks this year, but I look forward to seeing them again in Denver.

My only qualm with the concert were the drunk girls who got onstage to dance. This is not a reflection of the artists at all, only a reflection of the people that go to concerts in Boulder. It was incredibly disrespectful and you could see the distaste in Odesza's eyes when those girls got up there. WE PAID MONEY TO SEE ODESZA, NOT YOU! It is disgusting that people think that they are more important than the experience everyone else came to enjoy.

I also was not impressed by the bottleneck after the show. People were stuck in the building because the coat check is right next to the exit and people were trying to get out. People were pushing and shoving. If there was a fire, I would have been terrified for my life. This, combined with the people on stage, are enough to make me not want to go back to the Boulder Theater.

  • It was like I discovered a world where every second mattered, every sound had vibrant color, every song was a movie; a place that seemed like eternity and bliss. I couldn’t have been more mesmerized with the power and language of music and extraordinary visual effects. I’ve never noticed how important each and every second can be or how time lasts forever when there is only sound and light controlling the mind. When you forget the world outside and clear your mind, you get to notice the beauty of people and uncover a different way of looking at life and the true importance of “vibes”. It’s crazy how a dark club can be transformed into pure room of spiritual connections, and nothing from the outside world.

More people need to experience this type of world, it’s like a form of personal therapy to really show you how complex and beautiful life can be if you pay attention to the right things.

In love with this form of music and extremely amazed where it can take you.

  • Guys and gals, dont miss out on this one! Go! See them, feel them, and experience something that will make a positive and lasting impression in your life and those around you.

I'm quite a bit of a noob to all of this and this was my first ever designated concert to attend at the age of 44, but it was AMAZING!

The facility was clean and safe and very laid back and while the town I live in is very lame and we had a poor turnout due to an overwhelming and neverending supply of ignorance and arrogance, Odesza came through and brightened our lives the same. Dont miss any opportunities to see these guys.

  • I didn't think it was possible to fall any more in love with Odesza but after seeing them live last night I have been very mistaken. These guys are my absolute favorite and being able to hear some of favorite songs played live with their AMAZING drum line was really just an awesome life experience. They really know how to get the crowd going and EVERYONE was up on their feet singing and dancing. If you are given the chance to see then live, do not pass it up! They are amazingggg live & I promise you'll never forget it ! I already bought tickets to see them again in March

  • This was a beautiful show. Everytime you two play it's amazing. I remember the first time I saw you guys at wicker park fest and you played a free show, and now you're on the second phase of your in return tour. The visuals are becoming more and more intense, and the lights match perfectly with the songs. My favorite song is above the middle, and when you two played it, with those visuals, tears started to run down my face. I don't know if you guys will read this, but you two make my life much more beautiful. Keep on making music, and stay beautiful.

  • First time seeing ODESZA in action.. This show was amazing. You guys are amazing. I was very interested to see how you guys would mix your tracks live and was blown away by what you guys did. Everything from the electric guitar to the electronic drums.. I didn't think it could get any better than how it was done on the albums, but you guys made it happen. This $#! is fuxxin beautiful.. I can't put into words how purely awesome this music is. Keep up the magic, and hope to see you guys again soon (shambhala '16??). Big love from Saskatoon!

  • This was the best show I've ever seen in my life, if you get the chance, you have to go. The live orchestral elements were so beautiful and the light show was the best i've ever seen for any event, not just concerts, The live edits were sick too, a great mix of the classic odesza soulfulness with head banging heavy beats. Venue was very nice as well, no issues at all. This was their first time in Cincy and i sure hope they come back because i would go to the exact same show again in a heartbeat

  • The show was incredible, the music amazing as expected, the lights exceeded expectations, but a 75 minute set is really not enough. With so much music to choose from, you don't have to just play the hits and the new stuff. We would all have been happy hearing more. I understand that it is a ton of work to out on a choreographed show with beautiful lighting and many performers, but I didn't leave feeling as satisfied as I would from most shows. Ps, the encore was killer. Loved it.

  • Odesza was amazing. They really do a good job making it a fresh experience. The lights and music were all on point, and I love the way they change up their songs for the live versions. They also hade a trombone and trumpet player for a couple of songs. Odesza brought so much energy to the building and the crowd was amazing. Everyone there was dancing and soaking up the entire experience. I would say this was one of the best nights of my life. I highly recommend seeing them live.
