  Frankly, I was bored & left early.

  Bodega reminded me of the B52's which were fine in there day but that was a long time ago.

  They need a proper drumkit & not the constant repetitive jungle drums banging away, that drummer must have been pooped by the end as they were fading out when I left.

  The girl who stands front and centre just appears to be there to point her cymbal stick in the air (it is not a drumstick if you're not hitting a drum), when not pointing shes shouting or talking. Maybe its just me but I don't get it.

• Saw BODEGA yesterday on the opening of their UK headline tour at the Fleece in Bristol. Just bought tickets to see them again in Cardiff on Saturday. Less than £10 for a band of this calibre. Total bargain. Absolutely amazing, original, energetic performance. How does Nikki not smash her drumstick every night, thrashing the hell out of that tambourine/cymbal combo? So much great music coming out of the States lately. Just go and see them, you will not regret it.

• Infectious energy and enthusiasm from start to finish; widely varying set of tightly crafted music; bucket loads of personality from every member of the band and a privilege to see them at my favourite gig-pub the Portland Arms, Cambridge.
