After waiting for over 35 years, I eventually got to see my rock 'n roll hero last night at the Metro Radio Arena. I have to say that this is by far the bet gig I have attended. Jeff did not let his fans down! Every song was a classic, painstakingly recreated to be as true to the original song as possible. The new ELO backing band were superb as were the two backing singers and the string section. The staging of the gig was outstanding with stunning visuals and crsip clear sound. I could not fault this gig in anyway. Thank you Jeff and the band for a memorable night. Please come back soon!!
Great to hear the 71 year old master and his mastery. Right at the start I felt I could expect the big hits but other songs as well. Lesser known but more fun to play for the band, I could tell!
For me the highlight of the evening was Wild West Hero, the song which is frustratingly hard to sing along with because all the vocal switch places in hierarchy, all the time. But this band in Amsterdam showed us how it is done, expertly. I listened with awe and more than ever did I realise how great Jeff Lynne's mastery really is.
Well a fantastic show > professional, exciting, brilliant production, great musicians and Jeee Lynne, an master of music.
The downsides: rip off culture from the excess amount charged by Ticketmaster on every ticket purchased and the Arena venue over-charging for everything they possibly can.
We need to reduce this profiteering culture of Tickeymaster and the venues, so that the brilliance of Jeff Lynne and other artists are not killed by corporations.
I saw Jeff Lynne ELO at Wembley when they were last on tour which was a fantastic gig full of energy and enthusiasm from the band even though Jeff didn't move much. That was fine because his voice was good and the music was great. At the O2 it was a good gig but the band just seemed tired. Jeff's voice range didn't turn up. Who doesn't love ELO and Jeff but he sounded like he and the band need a rest. Also what happened to the flying saucer.
An incredible night! Never thought I’d see him again in concert - 40 years since seeing him on the Out of the Blue tour. Band was just like the old days, playing all the hits! Jeff still looks the same — haircut and all! Thank you for your Touring again. Well worth the flight from Tennessee! If you pick up a date in Nashville area I’ll buy tickets again!!
E.L.O. it was great to see them though I would have liked the show to be longer for the price (was only an hour and a half). And would have liked the whole orchestra to be there after all this is the ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA. But all in all a good show.
