  I haven’t seen Houston for a few years since I moved to Richmond VA., but he is my favorite tenor sax player on the planet. In fact, when I think tenor sax, I hear Houston playing My Funny Valentine or Autumn Leaves or some other tune from his HUGE repertoire, in my head. in as big a venue as Avery Fisher Music Hall tand and one as intimate as an art studio in a little town an hour north of NYC or a sushi restaurant in Connecticut (in both cases to help someone else), Houston’s sultry and soulful sax fills the room and people swoon. Can’t wait to see and hear the great Houston Person again.
