Biografia

  • O’Shea Jackson, better known by his stage name Ice Cube, is an American actor, screenwriter, producer, rapper and hip hop artist from Lost Angeles, California.

Born in South Central, Los Angeles on 15 June 1969, Ice Cube began writing raps in high school. In 1984, het met a 19-year-old Dr. Dre, and together they released a single “My Posse” under the alias CIA. The two then teamed up with fellow rappers Easy-E, MC Ren and DJ Yella as the group NWA (Niggaz Wit Attitude) and together they released “Straight Outta Compton” in 1988. However, due to creative issues, he left the group and by 1989 was pursuing his solo career. His debut album, “AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted” was released in 1990 and despite claims of misogyny and racism, was extremely successful. The follow-up record was even more controversial; however his most critically acclaimed album was his 1992 “The Predator.”

Having had so much success as a solo artist, Ice Cube still continued to work with other artists. 1994 saw him reunited with former NWA member, Dr. Dre, and together they recorded and relased “Natural Born Killaz,” and 1996 was the formation of Westside Connection, a collaboration with Mack 10 and WC.

The late 90s found Ice Cube concentrating on his acting career such as “Barber Shop” and “All About The Benjamins,” but he still found time to work on music. He was still collaborating with other artists like his appearance on Lil Jon & The East Side Boys’ “Real Nigga Roll Call,” and in 2003 The Westside Connection reunited for their sophomore album “Gangsta Nation.”

His most recent music musings with a new single release on 10 February 2014 “Sic Them Youngins On ‘Em.”

  • Ice Cube

If we’re talking about hip hop credibility, I’m not sure you can really top having been one of the members of N.W.A. As far as I’m concerned, then, Ice Cube gets a free pass for life. “What about some of the horrendous films he’s been in?” I hear you cry. Nope, not having it. He was on Straight Outta Compton. “How about his tepidly-received recent solo record, I Am the West?” Nah, sorry, ‘Express Yourself’. “Hasn’t he been in adverts for the almost-beer Coors Light?” That’s alright by me - ‘Gangsta Gangsta’. I could continue in this vein for some time.

As a solo performer, Ice Cube was really one of the pioneers of conscious hip hop, teaming his brutally honest lyricism with an obviously complementary aggression. He brings that kind of energy to the stage, too, with his last UK shows of two years ago blending some of his stone-cold classics - ‘It Was a Good Day’, ‘Check Yo Self’, ‘Natural Born Killaz’ - with the more raucous side of his recent output, with ‘You Can Do It’ meeting with a particularly feverish reception. He keeps things pretty sparse on stage - a DJ dropping beats, and a hype man - but what else does he need? The man is a bona fide hip hop legend. Don’t sleep on his shows next time he’s in the UK.

  • O'Shea Jackson, Sr., better known by his stage name Ice Cube is one of America's most prolific rappers and having sold over 25 million records globally he still has huge demand to be seen live. A pioneer of his times, the brutal aggression in which Jackson delivered his work on records such as 'The Predator' was seen as refreshing and innovative.

Now over twenty years later, audiences still flock to see this influential performer live. Arriving to the sound of booming bass lines and piercing percussion, Ice Cube's hype man takes to the stage first to make sure the crowd are suitably excited before the main man himself arrives to perform 'I Rep That West'. The sound is fantastic and despite his arrogant demeanour, Jackson seems comfortable onstage and does build rapport with his audience.

They erupt in mass pandemonium for classics such as 'Check Yo Self' and 'It Was A Good Day'. Although with the British audience, one track was always going to get a bigger reaction than the others and the opening bars of 'You Can Do It' evoke such a cheer it could have taken the roof off.

  • Ice Cube is all about that feel good, old school gangsta rap. He is a massive name in the music industry and in rap circles and continues to be a wonder to see on stage. He owns the stage like the icon he knows he is and the audience go crazy for him, thrilled to be in the presence of such an old school legend. Ice Cube looks as angry on stage as he always does, with those distinctive eyebrows making an appearance. However, he is clearly loving life on stage and commands the crowd with a confident ease, appearing just effortlessly cool. His lyrics are real and honest and his rapping is seamless. The hip hop beats are smooth and entertaining. There are no criticisms to be found. Ice Cube performed all the classics, from ‘Check Yo Self’ to ‘It Was a Good Day’ and ‘Natural Born Killaz’. Best of all, he even went back to his N.W.A days and delighted the crowd with a surprise performance of the classic hit ‘Express Yourself’.

  • the show was very much wack I believe that a refund should be gave. Why would fans would go the the VIP up front and with Liquor and stupid people Does not mix. For having Ice cube played 5 songs? Police came in and with tables and chairs being thrown. Both my Wife and I for disabled too see the whole Vip section go up in dust and it was coming our way. My foot was caught lucky part the fight when threw us at least. I wouldn't know if ICE CUBE WOULD BE ALLOWED BUT THE THE CITY OF LB.PEOPLE BUYING FOOD JUST THREW IT ON THE FLOOR AND RAN. VERY IMMATURE, Great place for allowing music. but seeing both males and females in blood and cuts. plus taking kids and smoking weed in front of them wasn't cool

  • Had a phenomenal time!! Even though it was all about Parq's 2 year anniversary, just being in the building with Ice Cube was the dopest feeling in the world. Nice layout, great location.

My only gripe was basically....how many times can a DJ play one song at least three times in one hour? He tried to switch up variations but it failed. I was there from 1030 to 130 and I heard at least 7 songs played 2-3x each. It shows you have no catalogue depth or maybe the people have no depth. Not saying IKON was a bad dj at all, but at least show you know more music. Radio stations play songs out, DJ's introduce songs to the world.

  • Cube is a great performer!! It was an awesome concert and great to see him and his son doing it up on stage!! What a treat!! :)

To bad we the audience had some bad apples that couldn't get it together and allow Ice Cube to finish his performance. I feel he handled the situation as anyone would!

Can't wait to see him again!

  • I need a refund on this last night's performance 3/7/19 at the Anthem. It sucks that no emails or text messages were sent out for a cancelled show. I came out in the cold, spent money on parking, dinner & drinks for nothing. Thanks for ruining my Birthday celebration, I should've went to see Cypress Hill instead.
