Trevor Hall is an American singer-songwriter from South Carolina. Born in 1986, Trevor Hall is known for his mix of reggae and folk-rock.
Trevor Hall’s musical career began at the age of 11 when the budding artist began to learn to play the harmonica. Inspired by the power of the small instrument, the artist quickly began to write his own songs and compositions while still in the early years of his schooling. Excited to perform from a young age, Trevor Hall was known locally for his many concerts and performances.
At the age of 16, Trevor Hall recorded his first album and soon after the young musician dropped out of traditional schooling to attend Idyllwild Arts Academy where he studied classical guitar. Trevor Hall’s time at the Los Angeles boarding school proved fruitful and the artist signed a record deal with Geffen Records before graduating.
Trevor Hall’s star began to rise during a series of concert tours with huge artists such as The Wailers, Jimmy Cliff and Colbie Caillat. The singer transferred to Vanguard Records in 2009 and his debut album with the label, “Trevor Hall”, debuted at the number seven spot on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. The album received extensive critical acclaim and Trevor Hall was named one of the artists to watch in 2010.
With a strong fan base earned through extensive touring, Trevor Hall utilised the power of his fans by announcing his sixth studio album, “Chapter of the Forrest”, the day before its release. The singer’s fans proved themselves loyal and the album debuted at the number two position on the iTunes singer-songwriter charts the day of its release.
Leia maisBefore he starts to sing, Trevor Hall looks out over his audience, then cocks his head questioningly. A piece of paper is being passed up from the back. It's a letter from a fan, and Hall graciously reaches down into the crowd, takes the paper, folds it, and carefully puts it in his front pocket. This is just one example of what a nice guy Trevor Hall is, and of how dedicated he is to his fans. The dreadlocked, blond man then strums an experimental chord, and launches into “Unity”, often leaving the singing to his audience, who know all the words, as he passionately plays his guitar. Trevor Hall was born in South Carolina and started writing his own music and performing at a very young age. At sixteen, he started formal training on the guitar and, within a few short years, began his career as a musician when he signed a record deal with Geffen records. Since then, he has been writing and performing music constantly. Hall is deeply spiritual, and his acoustic rock/reggae style is influenced by his lifestyle and ideals. Hall released his first album, Lace Up Your Shoes, in 2004, and has since then released four other albums and a few singles and EPs. Trevor Hall is a unique and successful musician with a growing fan base, and it would be well worth your while to see this charming performer live.
Multi-instrumentalists are always mesmerising, but Trevor Hall’s talent on the accordion as well as the guitar is on another level. His skilful playing demonstrate the years he’s given to the instrument, and although he doesn’t play it often any more, watching his fingers dance over the complex keys and buttons in an alternative version of All I Ever Know was something wonderful to witness.
He opened the show with his track Unity which he played acoustically on his guitar. He bugan playing the introduction, then started laughing a little and stopped to answer questions from fans, which was a really nice personal touch, before continuing with the song. His powerful rocky voice rang out through the venue, and every single person in the crowd seemed to be singing along, so he occasionally stopped singing and let the audience fill in the song for him, which was pretty cool.
He played a few of his singles from over the years, but mainly focused on his self titled album, playing it in its entirety. The set was reasonably long, and it was nicely broken up with a few covers, and some banter with the audience. Hall is an incredibly talented singer/songwriter, and I can’t wait for his new album Chapter of the Forest to hopefully tour!
This was a very unique and special show for me. Trevor's sharing of the stories and events behind his song's brought them into a new light and meaning. His telling of the story behind "You Can't Rush Your Healing" hit home for me and my own personal experience of healing.
Trevor was able to embrace the audience as one would a close friend; throwing out short banter like one would with a buddy. The venue was small enough to feel cozy and yet not crowded. The audience was quiet and attentive but provided energy to the room. The whole thing felt like reunion of old friends sharing an experience. Very cool. Thanks Trevor
Trevor Hall.. TEN TIMES BETTER LIVE. Back in high school I remember attending a Matisyahu ft. Dirty Heads concert and although they fall in the same genre, nothing quite compares to last night's show. Picture of him don't do him justice cause he gosh darn it is so sexy. Such an intimate venue, I absolutely loved that he came out to the crowd and had a mini "jam sesh" in the middle while everyone surrounded him and the other players. Bought a shirt that not only gave me some autograph privileges but also proceeds went to a good cause; Love Your Brain. That's about all I have to say.. still a little mesmerized.
Trevor was an unbelievable performer. Not only was his set fantastic, but his opener - Ethan Tucker kept the audience lively. The entirety of his performance consisted of great sound and amazing vocals. Trevor's show met all of my expectations (being a fan of him for three years now) and I absolutely loved hearing all of my favorites live. Definitely would recommend!
Absolutely amazing concert! He didn't just play the songs like they are on the albums, he did so much more. Extremely well thought out and put together, with a gracious emphasis on each musician in his band (who are all incredibly talented). THAT is how you rock out with an acoustic guitar and stand up bass!!!! Thank you Trevor!!
Outstanding show. Ann Arbor turned out big for Trevor and he delivered a soulful show with its share of his timeless tunes. The crowd was a fun living peaceful group that showed Trevor their love. Can't wait for him to come back next year... You promised T!
A pleasant opening act, followed by an intimate set with Trevor Hall and his small band, that built to a incredible rousing jam to "Om Shakti Om" with his walk-on father during the encore. That last song alone was worth the price of admission.
This was an outstanding show! 100% performance! Third time I have seen TH and certainly not the last :) The venue was amazing as well. If you have never been to Lincoln Hall in Chicago it's wonderful!
This show was AMAZING.Trevor Hall is a true artist in every sense of the word. He had a blast with his fans and made you feel like everyone in the audience were family..can't wait to see him again.
