  Animal Liberation Orchestra, aka. ALO opened their set with ‘I never learn but I don’t mind, I’m just waistin’ time, I never learn but I don’t mind, I’m just wastin’ time’…and they repeated this phrase of Wasting Time over and over until the audience were singing along with them. With four full length albums under their belt, I wasn’t sure what tracks the rock/ jam band were going to select, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they chose to journey through their career, playing hits from across the decades.

  As well as being talented singers, the band are all multi-instrumentalists, each playing a selection of guitar, keys, drums, ukulele, and pitching in on the vocals. Whilst in college, the members of ALO formed a 9 piece band and made an album ALO vs. LG, which gave them remarkable attention, before they stripped down to their four piece band.

  They played The Way You Make Me Feel and had the whole audience singing along with the famous cover, and the insertion of interaction like this throughout the show kept everyone energised and on their toes. They played the most tracks from Sounds Like This, which was great, as I’d not heard any of those tracks live before. The vocal performances, as well as instrumental were incredible, and I think that ALO are really a band who are getting stronger with age. ..

• Another great ALO show. A great band that should have more of a following out here in the east. Opening band The Fritz was awesome. One memorable moment was their rendition of 1999 by Prince.

  The lead singer came on later with ALO to perform Benny & The Jets.

  ALO was very good. Entertaining the masses at The Brighton Music Hall. Everyone was dancing and smiling. The band was on. They had another drummer that filled in very well for Dave.

  Zach and the band pulled out a great version of Immigrant Song later in the show. Everyone had a great time and if you haven't seen this band you are missing a real talented group. I heard someone say the greatest band you've never heard of. I've seen them many times and they always put on a great show.

• Absolutely amazing show one of the best I've ever seen in my life. They are so tight so talented so well rehearsed and clean, and on top of that they give it a hundred thousand percent. It was an engagement with the audience we weren't just watching. I just found them on Pandora a few months ago really like their music and started tracking them and saw the show and went and brought a friend of mine who knew nothing about them at all. She thought it was fantastic too. Just an unbelievable show. And the opening act was fantastic too (John Craigie?) as my friend said he was like what Bob Dylan would sound like if Bob Dylan sounded good....Lol, a funky Bob Dylan.

• This was by far the most fun positive show we have seen in a while. The band was so fun and engaging!!

  Two thumbs way up for the AWESOME jam band style!!

  AND...the MONO PHONICS!! WOW so great too, THe trumpet player !! WOW!!!

• WOW. What an amazing show. I would easily go see these guys again. They played for almost two hours. They're all so talented and incredible live. I was surprised by how much of a jam band they were. Amazing riffs. I really enjoyed this concert. Come back to the East Coast again soon, ALO!

  These guys should be selling out huge venues, they

  soooo good. Next time they come round, do not miss the fun and love that they bring with them.
