Four Year Strong’s blend of Pop Punk and Melodic Hardcore has been called everything from Easycore to Beardcore but whatever you want to call it, it has served the band well over the years.
Formed in 2001, the band all attended the same Massachusetts high school. Members Dan O'Connor, Alan Day, Joe Weiss, Jake Massucco and Josh Lyford (who has now left the band) wasted no time in recording their debut album ‘Its Our Time’ which the band released in a small run of 400 copies.
After releasing a demo the year prior, the band released sophomore effort ‘Rise Or Die Trying’ which, with the support of I Surrender Records, hit 31 on the Heatseekers chart. As the band’s popularity increased in later years it went on to sell over 50000 copies.
2009 saw the release of a covers album ‘Explains it all’, with songs from the likes of Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and No Doubt all being very important to the band growing up. 2010’s ‘Enemy of the World’ followed and with the support of Universal would go on to be the biggest chart success the band had had so far selling over 12000 copies in its first week.
The band supports itself through relentless touring playing on the likes of the Warped Tour and sharing the stage with big names like Blink 182 and All Time Low. In 2013 the band was on an extended break leaving fans worried that the band had broken up but by 2014 they had released a new EP and were back on the road again much to the relief of their worried fans.

Got to the venue a little catched the last couple of songs of the opening band Can't Swim and their where alright of what I caught of them and then this band from Ohio played Light years and those guys seem like that might have a big future, great songs with good hooks and a nice light-hearted stage presence in particular from the front man and made a little more impressive by being informed that the guitarist and bassist are recent additions to the band only a week according to the singer, and I'll definitely be on the look out for them if the come around again.
This was matinee show, so Four Year Strong started playing little after 4 and they set up all their own equipment which something they probably haven't done in a while which was nice to see a band like that go back to their roots for just a little while at least. On their twitter and instagram they promised to mix in old stuff and while they did, it was as much old songs as more of a healthy mix of everything they've released up to this point, they even played something from In Some Way, Shape, or Form which while my least favorite album of theirs it was still nice to hear a couple of tracks from it.
It was great show and I can't think of better way to spend a Saturday afternoon with, I even made some new friends on the way back home.
I've been a fan of Four Year Strong for a long time and they never fail to give a great live performance. Just four normal guys singing and playing some of the most energetic pop-punk you've ever heard. They don't need any tricks or gimmicks to help them out. No auto-tune, backing tracks or any of that garbage.
If you love to go to shows with moshing, stage diving, crowd surfing and tons of sing alongs go to a Four Year strong show. You're doing it wrong if you don't leave covered in another persons sweat!
For a pop-punk band Four Year Strong has some pretty intricate riffs especially when you consider the fact that both of the vocalists are singing and playing guitar at the same time. Dan and Alan never miss a note on either end of the spectrum and pull off a flawless performance every time I've seen them. Hitting harmonies that you wouldn't believe are possible. You always know you're they're going to rock your socks off. They make you feel like you're back in high school with no care or responsibilities and just hit you with a huge wave of nostalgia.
Seeing Four Year Strong every time they come to my city on tour, I can definitely tell you that they pull off a great show every time. Their fast, punk rock sound creates an insane energy that meets your needs of adrenaline. While their show was an acoustic rendition of their most memorable tracks, I felt a feeling of nostalgia as i could reminisce about the time I first started to listen to them. Cobra Lounge was a small, but intimate venue that brought you closer and makes a more personal show. I would see Four Year Strong until the very end.
Band was awesome and the audience was full of energy. Everyone was having a great time. The drawbacks were that the Corner Hotel gig was cancelled (through no fault of the band) and we had to go to the all ages gig at Arrow on Swanston (pretty crappy venue), the merch guy didn't take EFTPOS (I haven't paid cash at a gig in a long time), and the band didn't play an encore when requested. Aussie audiences are generally polite and are happy with just one more song.
The concert was amazing. Kinda sucked that I got kicked out for stage diving during fys but still had a lot of fun there. All bands were amazing specially expire and comeback kid. Heart to heart were amazing too. Overall it was an amazing concert.
V cool acoustic show - personally I didn't know it was an acoustic tour but it ended up being a diff kind of experience yet a v cool one .
Definitely recommend going to see them on this tour for an intimate experience with four year strong

I pogoed until my neck cramped up and woke up the next way with a muscle ache, a hangover and a cold.
Good alternative to going for a run and yelling in the forest.
This was my second time seeing Four Year Strong and I enjoyed this concert a lot. The opening acts were great (Expire and Handguns being my favorite.) I hope to see them at Warped Tour again this summer!

These guys are tight as a seals ass!!! This was the first time seeing Four Year and I plan on seeing them again!! Played every song that I was hoping to hear
