  Veronica Maggio, is the beautifully exotic singer songwriter from Sweden but notably of Italian origin. Her audience is a mixed bag of students and young professionals, ready to experience her soul pop vibe. It’s all about the sound that she makes live, complete with her band, who back her so well with the well crafted chord voicings that they endorse. She signed to Universal Music back in 2006 and is still going strong. It’s all about the singles tonight. She’s definitely the kind of artist who goes for the hits more than the albums. Her song “Mandagsbarn” which was a Scandinavian hit, going to number one in Norway and eight in Denmark, is the song that coaxes people out of their barstools and on to the dancefloor to throw some serious shapes. Her vocal ornamentation is very strong showcasing a strong calibre, and her evident training over the years. “Jag Kommer” is the songstresses closing song. Which saw the whole venue just come to life, for her Swedish number one smash.

• Swedish/Italian pop singer Veronica Maggio manages to achieve a relatively difficult feat as despite singing and recording in her native Swedish, she has a universal reach across Europe due to her soulful tones and endearing live show. The singer/songwriter has elevated fast through the stages since she appeared on the circuit in 2006 yet it feels as though this was always her goal as she completely commands the space around her and handles the crowd with ease.

  She has a loyal backing band which also helps the operation as they know her discography almost as well as the leading lady. The energy stays high all evening long and the fact she is able to hold the crowd's attention means she can perform over fifteen tracks with ease as they continually sing, dance and cheer in all the right places. After she introduces her band one by one and says her final thank yous, it is time for a finale of 'Sergels torg' as the swan song this evening.

• Veronica hade extrem scennärvaro, bra mellanprat och kontakt med fansen i publiken. Det var helt enkelt en underbar konsert.

  Tyvärr var just denna spelning som jag gick på under en festival där vissa hade druckit och var onyktra vilket bidrog till mycket stök i publiken, något som var en negativ faktor för mig som inte dricker alls och ville njuta av musiken. Men annars var det helt fantastiskt och jag kommer garanterat se henne igen om jag får chansen!
