Biografia

  • Lady Antebellum are quite possibly the biggest American country band in the world. Storming out of Tennessee, USA in 2006; the band are famous for selling ten million albums in their home country and having several smash hit singles on the Billboard Hot 100.

The band are comprised out of one core trio. Hilary Scott and Charles Kelley both share lead vocals on their songs, with Kelley also playing the rhythm guitar, whilst multi-instrumentalist Dave Haywood sings backup vocals while playing lead guitar, piano and mandolin.

Scott is the only one of the trio actually born in Tennessee, with both Kelley and Haywood being born in Georgia, the former was raised there while the latter was raised in North Carolina for the first ten years of his life. Haywood’s family moved back to Georgia and the two natives became friends in middle school, and by 2005 they were meeting up to write songs together every other weekend.

Like many other before and many others who will go on to do so, creating music became their passion and they came to Nashville seeking to make Kelley’s dreams of country stardom a reality. In comes Hilary Scott, who recognised Kelley from his MySpace page (that’s right, we’re going way, way back here!) when they met in a bar.

The three of them started writing songs together and country history was made. They signed to Capitol Records in 2007 and released their self-titled debut the year after; it was an instant hit, hitting the top spot on the Billboard country album charts in the first week of release.

Their music is a seamless mix of the accessible yet artistic, and their reign on top of the country world is only just beginning. If you join them for the ride now, there will be sights and sounds that you’ll never forget.

  • Lady A

First, I'd like to preface my review by saying that Lady Antebellum is (are) my absolute favorite artists. In the last three years, I've seen them six times and I'll be seeing them at least once more before the year is out. That being said, I was not entirely satisfied with their performance last night. In fact, I haven't been happy with the last two performances I've attended, the previous one being in Vegas, last December.

For some reason, on most of their songs, especially the older ones, the harmonies were off and that's a deal breaker for me since their lush harmonies are what makes them my favorite. Additionally while I understand that they are trying to widen out and keep their sound fresh, a couple more ballads like Golden, Goodbye Town,or especially Seventeen, off the new album, in the set list would have been nice because that's what made a lot of us huge fans of theirs in the first place. However, the show was definitely not a total bust. I loved when they brought Hunter Hayes back out to join them onstage and I think they did a great job on their newest single 747. I was also very pleased to hear one of my favorites, Mystery and their rendition of Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud. So while they may need to brush up on their harmonies a little bit, especially on their older tracks, they're still my favorite artists and I'm looking forward to seeing them again in Chicago,in August.

  • A Good show marred by Bad Sound

    O2/London/10 oct 2017

This should have been great, last date of the UK tour, two great support acts in Brett Young and Kelsea Ballerini (really headliners in their own right) but it was let down by the sound. For reasons known only to them the sound engineers over amplified the backing band so vocals were lost in the melee of base rumble and distorted feedback. All three artists produce songs of good strong lyrical quality and it beggars belief that the soundmen thought it right to bury that lyricism for the sake of ramping up the guitars and drums.

Putting the sound to oneside, Lady A were on great form, the two man brass section giving them a funky vibe that gelled well with the songs.

The best bits were the acoustic parts, when we really heard the blending of Charles and hillary's voices and Dave's piano. Standout tracks was Hurt, the Tom Petty Tribute - Learning to Fly,the eponimous Need you now. With merit mentions for This City, Heart Break and Good time to be alive.

Overall it was a Good Concert but it could have been so much more

  • Lady A is quite amazing. That would be the short and simple review, but that wouldn’t even begin to describe the experience that you get at one of their shows. Apart from the vocal performance of Hilary Scott being amazing, there is much more to their show. Musically they are one of the best harmonized groups I have ever heard, but it is all about the experience when you go a Lady A show. Rarely ever is there a bad seat because of their ability to connect with the audience. The connection occurs with every song, not just their popular songs. Since they are so versatile musically, going to their show is like constant party, you never know what you are going to get, but you know it will be fun. The last time I saw them it was at a medium sized venue, but they made you feel like it was a small intimate venue. The pyro and special effects were amazing. The entire presentation was not to be missed. I would recommend their concerts to anyone. My favorite song they do now still has to be Need You Now or What You Drinking from one of their early albums.

  • There is no denying country music is hugely popular in the US yet it rarely has a universal effect globally. Lady Antebellum are an exception to this rule, a band who are able to pack out venues on both sides of the Atlantic with their melodic folk/pop.

The trio achieve some of the most warm, luxurious melodies imaginable and with a fantastically retro charm to their music likened often to Fleetwood Mac, the live experience is very uplifting. The hits such as 'Just A Kiss' and 'Freestyle' get great cheers from the audience, yet the band perform every track with a similar tone of endearment that makes you feel they have really debated about the set lists and chosen songs for both the audience and themselves.

A poignant performance of Grammy awarded 'I Run to You' chills the air and evokes huge applause at its conclusion. A perfect encore pairing of 'Need You Now' and '747' highlights where the band began and to where they have come on the merits of their music.

  • Wow,what a great show!!!They were as I expected, very energetic and entertaining in front of a wild crowd!!! I wished that we could have gotten their autographs but were whisked away after their performance. Anyways, I'm still grateful to have gotten to enjoy every minute of their performance at Dauphin Countryfest in Manitoba, Canada!

They seem to have a busy summer.I wish them and their little families, all the best. Hope that I will have a chance to see Lady Antebellum for a fourth time in the near future!

  • Unfortunately, Lady A was not as phenomenal as usual. While their acoustic set started off well even with the technical difficulties, their vocals fell apart during the show. They also nixed singing Army, which was actually one of their better songs, in the Indy show. It was still a fun show however, especially with the addition of the brass section and while they are still my favorite artists so I'll still most likely see them again, it won't be any time soon.

  • Second time seeing Lady A and they didn't disappoint. A good mix of old and new. Highlights tonight, the Shania cover with Kelsea & Brett, the crowd singing Lean on Me for Las Vegas and their return to stage for Need You Now, it was so good. These guys know how to take hold of their audience and take them on a journey of music and song. If you haven't listened to or seen Lady A live you need to.

  • It was ok. Just ok.

My seat was crap because there was a corridor to the right of me that had a constant draft.

The support was good. For a support act.

Lady Antebellum didn’t do any of the big hits. & were off the stage before 8:55pm.

Won’t be going again. Will listen to their records instead. Was so looking forward to this concert & ended up disappointed
