  I saw Jessica Pratt and her band on July 27 in Cambridge at The Sinclair. It was like being teleported back to 1966 in the very best way. If Nick Drake had a sister she might sound like Pratt. Completely hypnotic folk pop, and she had the sold-out room in the palm of her hand.

  The opening act, @, from Philadelphia, got off to a slow start but they were sort of spectacular. Think Fleet Foxes melodies (vocalists Stone Filipczak and Victoria Rose) and Smashing Pumpkins thrown in a blender with a tab of acid. Their album and EP unfortunately don't feature the killer cellist they had onstage last night, who knit together their harder-driving songs and brought them to a whole new level. We had some fun conversation with other concert-goers because Rose sort of mumbled the band's name, so half of us thought it was "Hat" and half of us thought it was "That." Then a woman stepped forward and said, "No, it's @. I thought there was a typo on the poster but I threw it in Spotify."

  A pretty great night!
