  • Andrew Weatherall

Dance music is epic and incredibly exciting to listen to, and seeing electronic dance music performed live takes the genre to a totally new lever. Seeing Andrew Weatherall perform live was absolutely epic. Of course I knew that he was going to put on a great show, he’s been DJing since back in the late 80s, and has years and years of experience both performing and producing great music.

As well as being a solo artist, Weatherall is the founder of Boys Own, that became very well known over the years. He opened his set with Playing some Rock ‘n’ Roll, and got everyone dancing straight away. He’s been performing in superclubs all over the world for the last 20 years, so seeing him in a reasonably intimate venue was incredible. He was great at interacting with the audience and shouting out for everyone to get involved with the dancing of the tracks, and when he played songs with samples he had everyone singing along.

His performance was electric from start to finish, and he was great at interacting with the audience as well as playing and mixing his awesome set live in front of us.

  • Well what can I say , really cool venue organised by mr Holmes ! Maple leaf club is a bit like Peter k wedding disco ,setup a throw back in time to your parents local Saturday night dance the main difference being that weatherall along with cool visuals and tidy sound system was the ringmaster! The music was exactly like I expected weird and very interesting from all parts of the world similar to his monthly radio show on nts ! The drink flowed and after a couple of hours it was time to melt into the dance floor, I'm of similar vintage to Andy and feel his taste in music hits me every time so cool and as always his enthusiasm in every song is fantastic. Shortly before 2am the men in suits appeared courtesly to tell Lord sabre that it was getting near that time . Weatherall responded with the song of the night his magnificent remix of David Holmes track Henry McCullough a masterpiece and the crowd responded a fitting end to a fantastic night thank you all ! • Great show last night for the release of

Sherwood at the controls vol 2 , the night was kicked off with a dub set by Andrew weatherall .. Immaculate as ever in his choices .. He built it up nicely for Adrian sherwood to step up and treat us to some new stuff mixing it up live on the controls dropping dub plates and classics into the mix , he was then joined by Doug wimbish on bass and Perry melius on drums playing live while he did his stuff in the mix as they played ... So many highlights .. White lines , rappers delight .. Everything really .. Such a great night .. Every one in the crowd loving it and just a great happy vibe .... One love
