Originally from Los Angeles, California, American DJ, Erick Orrosquieta, more commonly known by his stage name Deorro, specializes in progressive and electro house music.
Born as Erick Orrosquieta on 30 August 1991, Deorro began his music career DJ-ing at local gigs in his hometown of Los Angeles, California. When he reached age 17 he started to continually produce his own music. In 2012 he remixed “Make Some Noise” originally by DJ/ Producer Chuckie, who had requested Deorro to do the remix. The remix made its way to the Top 50 list by Beatport. The following year he released a single via Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings entitled “Yee.” The single charted all across Europe, hitting number 33 in Austria, 74 in France, 62 in Germany, and 8 in Belgium.
In 2014 Deorro released a three singles: “Flashlight” which charted in Belgium (peaking at number 54), “Five Hours” which charted in seven countries, including Belgium, France and Germany and “Rambo” which features a collaboration with J-Trick and charted in France. In May 2014 Deorro made an announcement that he would be pulling back on his DJ-ing to concentrate on producing and expanding his label, PandaFunk. Despite this, in the fall of 2014 Deorro hit number 19 for the award for highest new entry on the 'DJmag top 100 DJs 2014' contest. Because of this award, he performed at the DJ Mag event in Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
Plus d'infoI bought tickets for my husband Kyle and I, our best friend bought his ticket and I was going to surprise Kyle with the tickets as part of our 15th wedding anniversary that's coming up on 7/8/16. We've never been to Parq or seen Deorro but he's our best friend's favorite DJ. I told Kyle we were "going on an adventure" to somewhere really nice, our best friend would be there too and it was an anniversary surprise.
Kyle started having stomach pains Sunday afternoon while I was getting ready to go. The pain kept getting worse and unfortunately, by 10:30 pm, we ended up in the emergency room at Grossmont hospital instead of at the Deorro show. He had Acute Appendicitis and had surgery yesterday, July 4th, to have his appendix removed. He's at home now, in pain from the surgery, heavily medicated and still doesn't know what the 15th wedding anniversary "adventure" was or that our best friend ended up going to the Deorro show by himself.
The timing and urgency of our unexpected trip to the ER didn't allow for any time to try and sell our tickets or even try to bless someone else by just giving them away. That's the most disappointing part, knowing that two Deorro tickets just went to waste instead of two people getting to enjoy the show.
I'm very thankful that Kyle is okay and so glad the source of his pain has been removed because That's what matters the most, of course. Now, to think of another 15th wedding anniversary idea that's a "safe for post-surgery adventure"! :-)
Formerly known as TON!C, Deorro has been DJing his progressive and electro house creations since way back when he was 14 years old. Watching him play live, you can tell that he has had a vast amount of experience for his young years, and reminding yourself that he’s an entirely self taught musician is incredible. As well as original EDM tracks, Deorro is well known for his remixing abilities, which he showcased at the recent concert. Having worked for the likes of Chickie and Steve Aoki, Deorro is a huge name in the industry both behind the scenes, and on stage.
He opened his set with an extended version of his track Five Hours which got the audience dancing straight away. When he wasn’t mixing or working the desk, Deorro was dancing behind his booth and getting into the tracks along with everyone else. He’s a great performer and had the crowd on his side all along. As well as his own tracks, he played some of his remixes and everyone was singing along to the pop samples enthusiastically.
When he played Yee, he was clapping his hands behind the booth, and the awesome strobe lighting reflected his movements, adding another layer of creativity to the visually and acoustically stunning show. The whole performance was a lot of fun, and if you like dancing, you’ll definitely love this gig.
I'm not so deep into EDM lore as to know the specific relationship between Deorro and Aoki to understand the frequency of their collaboration on individual titles or their frequency of appearing together. All I know is that, when they *do* appear on the same lineup, it's gonna be a great show. This show did not fail to meet that expectation.
Having just been to the previous night's Kompany/Dion Timmer/Dubloadz/Flux Pavillion show, I was looking forward to thi one as a "change of energy" show. Which is to say, while I was expecting an energetic show, I wasn't expecting my feet or knees to undergo the kind of punishment doled out in a good basshead show.
As is normal for a Deorro/Aoki show, it was high-energy, bouncy fun. And, whether you're a true house fan or not (I'm not), the *showmanship* is a huge percentage of what makes going to a Deorro and Aoki show such a great experience.
Definitely try to see them, again, next time they come through. To date, it's *always* been worth the money and time spent.
Erick Orrosquieta best known by his stage name Deorro has been making huge waves on the dance scene since he appeared on the circuit in 2013 with the infectious single 'Yee'. Mexico is not usually known as a great exporter of dance tracks, yet Deorro seems to be on a one man mission to change this trend.
There is no denying he has impressive live skills, yet it is also his fun personality that keeps the crowds jumping. He appears to love the music as much as they do as he continuously jumps and dances along with the masses to the heavy, progressive beats of 'Flashlight' his collaboration with R3hab. He plays both versions of his track 'Five Hours' including the Chris Brown accompanied version 'Five More Hours' in one succinct mix to the delight of fans who continue to cheer in appreciation. A slick, succinct set proves Deorro's worth as a DJ and by his comfortable demeanour onstage he will remain a staple addition to the circuit for years to come.
Deorro at Flames Central was a great show. It was a great show because of Dirty Audio's set, as he was far and away a show stealer.
Deorro was good, but there was too much time spent pulling people onstage and doing photos and hugs and not enough time spent mixing. He missed some cues, he missed some changeovers, so it was a bit of a disappointment, but Dirty Audio made up for it with his energy and his mixing.
We got kicked out. Should have been 18 is all i'm saying about that incident. The opening sets were good but we never got to see Deorro. I'm kinda salty about that considering we were VIP and I paid extra for the tickets.
WoOooow))) Doesn't matter your race or age, Deorro is such a diverse DJ! He kept us all dancing and entertained.
Great visuals too! For those of us who are introverts or to those who aren't dance'ologists... Great show!
Dude was fucking amazing!!! This was my first time seeing him, and he crushed it. His remixes of some popular Latin songs had me almost piss myself they were so funny! Will definitely see him when he comes to town.
Best show ever! It awesome from beginning to end! I was jumping and dancing to every beat, absolutely best DJ thus far that I have seen and I have quit a bit. Definitely need to see him again.
Put on a high energy show from start to finish. The light show and everything was perfect combination of strong vibes for hours. I highly reccommend it. He put on a great show.
