Biographie

  • Attila is an American metalcore band from Atlanta, Georgia that formed in 2005. They were formed by frontman Chris Fronzak who started the band in high school.

Their name comes from Attila the Hun, a name that Fronzak stumbled across in a book. Though their original formation was in 2005 this band did not start touring full-time until around 2010. Chris Fronzak, Sean Heenan, Sam Halcomb, Matt Booth and Kris Wilson formed Attila in their hometown of Atlanta in 2005. They later became the fourth band on the roster of the Artery Foundation/Razor & Tie joint Venture. A fun fact is that the frontman Fronzak, starred on MTV’s television show Made where he was made into a model.

They released two albums with Statik Factory prior to signing to Artery Recordings, “Fallacy” and “Soundtrack to a Party.” It was when they signed to Artery Recordings in 2010 that they would soon release what was in fact their third album; entitled “Rage” which was released on May 11th 2010. It charted on the #Billboard 200 US Heatseekers Chart at number 15. Later that year they toured with HED PE and Threat Signal, and then announced that they were the support for Drop Dead Gorgeous’ headlining tour, along with From First to Last, Sleeping With Sirens, Abandon All Ships and For All Those Sleeping.

They followed this album with “Outlawed” released on August 16th 2011, which is the fourth album by the band. Upon it’s release it charted in the Billboard 200, at number 87, selling 4,700 in it’s first week. The album is the first band to be produced by Joey Sturgis, who has previously worked with such bands as The Devil Wears Prada, We Came as Romans and Asking Alexandria.

“About That Life” is so far, their most successful album yet, released on June 25th, 2013. Joey Sturgis produced it again and despite the awful critical acclaim that it received; it debuted at #22 on Billboard 200 and #5 on Billboard’s Rock chart, with 14,271 albums sold.

Avis

  • Attila

Deathcore and metalcore music isn’t a genre I usually enjoy, nor had I heard of Attila before I saw them in concert, but I must say that I have been massively converted, and bought several of their tracks after the show. The band opened their show with a huge instrumental solo from each of the band members, before Chris Fronzak ran on stage and began singing in his distinctive metal voice. Fronzak, as well as being the founder and frontman of the band, has had much success featuring on tracks for other artists, and has helped the fan gain a large following from this. They opened with the title from About That Life, which went down really well and had everyone head banging and jumping along from the start. As well as being incredible vocalists, guitarists, and drummers, the whole band were great performers. No matter what instrument they were playing, they were investing their energies on engaging their audience and getting everyone to dance and sing along.

They asked up to split the crowd down the middle, ‘front to f**ing back’, and for the song they made us in the audience run towards each other, and it was a mad atmosphere, but the most fun. They encouraged us to crowd surf and everything. The atmosphere was electric, and the talent incredible.

  • Traveled from SLC, UT to Idaho to see them with Insane Clown Posse, and it was by far the best concert I’d ever been to. It was my first time seeing either of the bands, or going to this venue (Jub Jubs, Reno, NV) but both the bands put on a great show, and the venue was great.

  • They started Kate and needed to make a lot of sound checks, which extended the wait. But when Attila entered the stage, everything was perfect. Good show and good crowd. They know how to pull it off.
