• The Sweet

  Glam rock was a thing of the 70s, and Sweet rose to worldwide fame through their creation of multiple top 10 hits in their early years as a band. Although they had a brief hiatus in the 80s, the band are still performing, and have a large following of older fans, as well as a fresh new group of fans. The band’s line up has changed extensively over the years, and with that the style of their music has adapted from glam, to hard rock, however, they have maintained popularity.

  Their show was absolutely packed with new and old fans alike, and I was unsure whether they were going to cater for those wanting to hear the original tracks, or their newer music. They however created a balance of the two, which seemed to please everyone. They opened the show with Wig-Wam Bam which had everyone singing along and dancing enthusiastically. They were really great at interacting with their audience, and gave loads of shout outs to us throughout the show.

  They played some of their heavier tracks intertwined with their older poppy feel, so it didn’t get too intense at all which was great. When they played Ballroom Blitz, they were rocking out hard, and had us all singing along to the chorus. I felt really involved which was super fun, and it was just a great show.

• MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR DISASTER! My son and I travelled for over an hour and a half to see Sweet as we are both fans. It was his birthday treat as his eighteenth birthday is three days afterwards. However, when we got there we were not allowed in as we were told it was an 18 event. They would not allow him in for the sake of three days! The worst thing is, when I made the booking I mention that it was his 18th birthday three days later and NOTHING was said about him not being able to attend. Bloody awful venue staff!!! We will most certainly never attempt going there again. And why oh why does a Sweet gig need to be 18 ? We have attended countless other Sweet gigs together before and there has never been an age restriction. Bloody ridiculous! NOT HAPPY!

• i thought the band were excellent as usual last night in Southend on sea and the talents of the guys were superb even the stand in drummer who apparently was one of their sound and recording crew!! How Andy Scott does the gig with that blonde 70's wig though i'll never know , maybe the whole band should wear them and some glitter suits to finish the job off!

  In all seriousness though, if you loved the sweet when you were a kid watching on totp's and the riffs harmonies, and falsetto's then get your backsides to a theatre to catch them before the end of the tour. A great way to see in christmas and give yourself the feelgoid factor rather than the x factor! Great Night!!

• Absolutely fantastic show in Warrington. Delighted with the new line up. The sound was incredible in the theatre and the crowd rocked all night. The band excelled Paul was amazing getting the crowd involved at every opportunity. Andy was on top form supported perfectly by Steve their guitar duet was simply outstanding. I was particularly impressed with Lee sounded great and his voice was superb even tho Andy had mentioned he was under the weather. Bruce is so consistent and what a great character and Asset he is 27 years in the band sensational. Hope the lads stick together for many more years. I will never be tired of seeing them can't wait for the next time.

• The Sweet performed as a five-piece at The Cheese and Grain, Frome. It was a great atmosphere and the C&G was busier than I had ever seen it. The sound was great and the harmonies were perfect. The lead vocalist, as front man, performed with masterly enthusiasm as did the rest of the band. Andy Scott was anecdotal and came across as a really nice bloke. The overall performance was loud, energetic and thoroughly professional. Nostalgia may have been high on my agenda but I would happily watch them again tomorrow.

• Sweet played the Gollan venue in Lübeck on November 2nd 2018 and did once again a great job serving Sweet's music as of today. The audience was singing along and everybody had a great evening. Thanks to Radio BOB and Seaside Touring for a good and well organized evening and of course to Sweet for their performance. This was The Sweet of 2018 in their 50th anniversary year.

• A fantastic gig.One of the best gig I have seen.The new member Paul Manci is outstanding,and he did sing the heaviest song like Set me free,Burn on the flame and Sweet FA as he have never done anything.Master class!!The rest of the band and the fans was amazing.Will never forget this night in Berlin,long trip from Norway,but I enjoy every second of it.

• Absolutely fantastic. Great to see the boys headlining - previous 2 times they were supporting Slade. Temp drummer deserves a pat on the back for a job well done. Went straight home and onto amazon to by new single and album. Delighted their finale not really a finale - hoping to see in Dundee in 2016! Thanks guys!

• Fantastic show loved every minute!!!! So professional love them !!!! Support act was interesting too !!!!!!!! But a fab night all round , even shook hands with the legend any Scott , Great venue also the robin 2 -5 bilston as fab

• A great live band. The only issue i/others thought was a block of newer numbers that most of the audience ie there to enjoy the more well known or classic material found a little off putting.
