If it hadn’t been for a career ending knee ligament injury, promising footballer Olly Murs (born 14 May 1984) from Essex, England may never have won the nation’s hearts through his X-Factor journey in 2009 as a pop musician.
This cheeky chappy found his fame on the British television talent competition X Factor in 2009, impressing judges and audiences alike with charisma in abundance and incredible talent. Taking the runner up spot in the final and missing his identical twin brother’s wedding in the process, Murs was soon snapped up by Epic Records and Syco music with whom he signed a record deal with the following year.
Later in 2010, Murs released his debut single “Please Don’t Let Me Go” with its reggae pop infusion which peaked at number one and off his forthcoming debut self-titled album which demonstrated his innate songwriting capabilities. The album debuted in the UK album charts at number two, certifying double platinum and also featured the singles “Thinking of Me” and “Heart on My Sleeve”. The following year Murs embarked on his first solo nationwide tour which saw him play four sold-out shows at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, England. At the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards that year, Murs took home the award for Best British Album.
Releasing his second album “In Case You Didn’t Know” in 2011 saw Murs snatch his first number one album and featured the collaboration with Brit-hop duo Rizzle Kicks on the number one single “Heart Skips a Beat”. For the US release, the single featured American rapper Chiddy Bang. The following year Murs released his third album “Right Place Right Time” which peaked at number one in the UK charts with the lead single “Troublemaker” featuring American rapper Flo Rida. Later that year Murs joined One Direction as a support act on their North American Tour.
Murs’ fourth album “Never Been Better” released in 2014 sees him collaborate with his more hot American talent with Demi Lovato and Travie McCoy featuring as he scored another number one album. Having played across the globe and at T in the Park and V Festival while supporting the likes of JLS, Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams, Murs has proved that he is no one trick pony as he endeavours to conquer the world injecting his little ray of sunshine pop into the charts.
Plus d'infoThere are many reasons why I go back to see Olly Murs every chance I get. He is a complete showman and has you leaving the venue with a massive smile every time.
I've seen him in many venues from Blackpool, to Alton Towers, and my favourite venue The LG Arena in Birmingham. He takes you on a journey through all his greatest hits making you want to "dance with him tonight" to the slow meaningful ballads about finding love. His band is very involved in the show and you can see how much fun they have performing with him.
He spices things up with his energetic, seductive dancing, and even throws in some cover songs. My favourite has to be when he supported Robbie Williams in his stadium tour last summer and he performed a medley of Earth, Wind and Fires greatest disco songs.
Olly came secnd to Joe Macelderry on the hit show The X Factor in 2009 but I think we can all agree that he has had a soaring success since. He also takes part in the Charity football event Soccer Aid which takes place at Old Trafford this Sunday 8th June. Anything he does is worth going to see. He is a genuine laid back, friendly, not to mention cheeky guy and I recommend his music and gigs to anybody who is a fan just like me.
X Factor alumni turned global pop star, Olly Murs is a great example of the kind of launch platform X Factor can offer artists with integrity and a vision. He has maintained the old school swing influence on his classic pop sound and has won him legions of fans around the world as well as three number one albums in his home country.
The Essex cheeky chap has no problem selling out venues filled with adoring fans and as the old school stage lights illuminate the crowd they cheer in unison before the man himself steps out for 'Army Of Two'. His vocal sounds close to the recording and doesn't falter despite Olly enthusiastically bounding from side to side of stage to personally greet every audience member.
The fans are treated to all the hit singles they were hoping for including 'Heart Skipped A Beat' 'Please Don't Let Me Go' and 'Dance With Me Tonight'. Olly slows the tempo for 'Dear Darlin'' which showcases that classic sounding swing vocal before delighting the crowd with an all out performance of 'Troublemaker' which keeps the fun factor going until the very final beat.
It was a brilliant show. I was quite near the back of the hydro and I could hear him prefectly and clearly. It was a great and exciting atmosphere. This is my second time seeing him and it was even better the second time around. The song choice was amazing and entertaining. It was a very fun and a enjoying show. The DJ who started the show was fantastic he played a lot of songs and got the crowd going mad . As soon as the count down came on for Olly Murs everyone went mad and were screaming. It took me and my friend alone time to get in as the queue was away back but it was definitely worth the wait. The hydro was massive brilliant place for the concert. It was the best concert in a while. Would definitely say it was worth the money. Would recommend this concert to anyone and I hope there's another tour next year
Fantastic night with my daughter at Olly Murs. Had VIP tickets and front row seats which were a bonus. We were given a goodie bag from Olly which contained a personally signed programme, a VIP wristband, a VIP lanyard and a commemorative ticket and a lovely watch which had Olly Murs signature at the back and personalised front with his initials and your name on it. This was a lovely touch. Would definitely go to another concert of his. He is a great entertainer xx

He involved the audience so much, made us laugh, had practically everyone up dancing as well.
I saw him 2 years ago & would definitely see him again.
If anyone is wondering whether to go & see him- Don't wait too long- book your tickets as soon as you can.
He's such a down to earth "normal" person who appreciates the fans who make him the Celebrity that he is. He's not "Up himself" & a genuine lovable Fella.

Took my son to his 1st ever gig, which was Olly Murs! He didn't disappoint and my son loves him even more and I have to say so do I! A great performer, cheeky chappy and all round entertainer - fantastic night. He had everyone standing and dancing in their seats, would definitely recommend to anyone who likes Olly Murs or even if your not that fussed!! Enjoy!!
Wow,amazing concert from start till finish, Olly and band was amazing as always. Couldn't have wished for a better night. My 12 year old son is a huge fan and got to meet Olly at the end it was magical you all made my sons dream come true. Thankyou so much to Olly and his team you have made a little boy very happy and given him the best memories for life :) x
He was fantastic and really lively. We also had decent seats. He got everybody up to dance and sang all my old favourites. He very cheeky and fun. It was indescribably 100% amazing and I love him even more now. This was a 100% brilliant birthday present and my first ever concert so it made it made the expirence even better.

Olly Murs is hands down my favourite artist to see live. His fun and comedic personality definitely shows through his performances which keeps the crowd going and creates such an energetic and fun atmosphere. Olly Murs is so underappreciated for his talent! Will definitely be going again !!
