Biographie

  • G-Eazy is a rapper, producer and songwriter hailing from Oakland, California, United States who was born on the 24th of May 1989. Since his debut in 2006 he has been one of the most prolific rappers of his generation, releasing three studio albums, six mixtapes and three E.P’s.

Born Gerald Earl Gillum and raised in Oakland, California, G-Eazy was absolutely captivated by hip-hop’s culture and music from a very young age. By the time he was in his late teens he’d already performed and recorded with a number of local hip-hop groups like Lil’ B and The Cataracts but it wasn’t until he went to college that he formed his own group. As leader of the Bay Boyz, G-Eazy generated some serious hype for his music with the songs that they uploaded to their MySpace page. However, solo stardom was always going to be the number one priority for the up and coming rapper, who was already working on his solo debut while still in the Bay Boyz.

Showing his dedication to his craft, G-Eazy was also building up a prolific producing portfolio at the same time. When he turned those skills onto his own tracks he came up with “Candy Girl”, a song has since been played on MySpace well over 400’000 times, and it became clear that a talent like his wasn’t going to be under ground for long. He released his debut album “The Epidemic LP” in 2010 and no lesser talent than Canadian rap megastar Drake hand-picked G-Eazy to tour with him at the end of the year. The exposure that the album and the tour gave him led to the massive success of his 2011 breakout hit “Runaround Sue” and its accompanying E.P “The Endless Summer”.

Ever since then he’s been one of the hottest names in modern rap. He’s toured with the likes of Lil’ Wayne and Snoop Dogg, scored a top three album on the Billboard 200 with his third effort “These Things Happen” and worked with A$AP Ferg on his single “Lotta That”. At the time of writing the man’s only 25 years old as well, meaning that he’s had this level of success, and this much experience doing what he does, and he’s still not even close to his prime. Clearly when he gets there he’s going to be something very special indeed, and he’s still going to be making great music until he gets to that point. For that reason, G-Eazy comes highly recommended.

  • G-Eazy

I have been a huge fan of G-Eazy since he came out with his first album, "Big." I have loved following the Bay Area artist's progress throughout his albums, such as "The Outsider", "Endless Summer" and "Lady Killers." When the opportunity arose to see G-Eazy in concert for the small price of $30, I couldn't resist.

Being a rising artist, G-Eazy's "These Things Happen" tour typically played shows in smaller sized venues. The show initially consisted of a few opening acts which grabbed the crowd's attention while also continued to increase anticipation of G-Eazy's appearance.

Even as a frequent concert goer, no show has yet to compare to the feeling that arose in my stomach as G-Eazy appeared on the stage mere feet from myself. From the attention grabbing "Far Alone" to the slower song "Mad" and even the old hit "California Culture", G-Eazy managed to engage the entire crowd no matter what song he played or beat he dropped. The show was so intimate and personal that you truly felt like you couldn't get enough.

The second opportunity that was presented for me to see G-Eazy live was by means of a festival. I was extremely excited to see one of my favorite artists again but was somewhat skeptical of how he would do on a larger stage with a more diverse crowd. Needless to say, he killed it. If anything, G-Eazy was even more into the festival atmosphere and seemed to have the time of his life on the stage, even breaking out "the shit he usually doesn't play at normal shows", "Lotta That." In the short hour that was allotted for G-Eazy to play, he used every single second of it very, very wisely.

G-Eazy is still on the verge of a major breakthrough as an artist and continues to grow in popularity everyday. I would love to see him keep his personal way of connecting with a crowd as he continues to play at larger venues during future tours. I HIGHLY recommend going to see one of his shows - it won't disappoint.

  • Great concert, right when I walked in I knew I was in for a treat. The first few opening acts were amazing as well, as Nef the Pharaoh and Marc E. Bassy set the stage for A$AP Ferg and G-Eazy very well and they got the place lit. Ferg went hard honoring his late great friend A$AP Yams and his performance had the whole place jumping. Then Eazy came on and every one started going crazy. The prep for his performance was quite long and for good reason. His set connected with the Bay Area crowd as his set resembled the slums of Oakland. Eazy performed some lit songs from his newest album "When It's Dark Out" and then he brought out plenty of popular Bay Area rappers and other nationally recognized rappers. Such rappers included, Logic, IAMSU, Clyde Carson, Lil B, Kool John, and a few more. Eazy then wrapped up the concert with some of his classics and then with he concluded the epic concert with his smash hits Me, Myself & I, and I Mean It. All in all a fantastic performance by every entertainer and an epic concert. Great job 10/10.

  • G-Eazy shook up Ventura last Saturday! I was surprised by the dress code, but it kept the concert classy, and who doesn't love collared shirts?

I got a great vibe from the opening artists. Jay Ant got the crowd rolling! But we were all waiting for the countdown to G-Eazy.

G-Eazy mobbed hard with his best songs like Monica Lewinsky and I Mean It. But from the front (6th row-ish) It was difficult to recognize some of his more low-key songs.

My only problem was that the bass was too loud to hear songs that were mostly non-bass oriented! I still enjoyed his hits, but songs like Been On and Almost Famous were hard to enjoy because the bass was way louder than the song!

There was so much popularity roaring from the crowd that we chanted until he encored and played Loaded. By the time the chorus hit, there was so much energy that the artists onstage knocked the fog machine over and the crowd went wild in the smoke! By far best ending for a concert. Looking forward to see more G-Eazy around LA

  • After 2-3 hours of hanging at the Lounge, we bailed when 12:30a rolled around and still no Young Gerald on stage.

Maybe it was our fault for not realizing early enough that he was actually listed as "hosting", which really only meant a 30 min. set at 1a, just before last call. It still seems crazy that if you're hosting, you're not on stage at least 2 hours after the doors open to do a 30 min. set then enjoy the rest of the night.

The trek out to Anaheim turned out to be a bust and straight up disappointment.

Note to self: don't bother with small venue shows that don't clearly identify someone being on stage before 1am. There's a first for everything, and this will be a first failed attempt at seeing an artist I figured would at least grace us with a 1 hour set or hype to the DJ because he's there for his fans, not just to hang at a lounge while a throng of fans hang around for hours.

  • It was fun, but I couldn't even enjoy the music and the show. I waited in a 5-block-long line for an hour and a half in 20 degrees, then we had to run to the doors to get in because people were running and cutting the line like a bunch of crazy people. Then when we were in we made it to the front as a group and when the concert started, people immediately started pushing you so they could get up front. Being a skinny, 5'2 minor, I was crushed by taller, 20-year-olds with long nails and black eyeliner that scratched you and yelled at you so they could aggressively take your spot. Maybe I'm not cut out for these concerts, but for sure it was not worth the money to be somewhere you could barely see or barely breath. My prayers are to the folks that go, good luck. You're going to need it for battle.

  • G-Eazy's concert was an AMAZING experience. It was my first time ever going to a concert and I'm glad it was his. He'll sing his songs and he'll play some of his hold ones for everybody. Everybody's singing the songs as loud as they can. It feels like everybody is one big lit as family. I started singing with everybody and they were fine with it. The vibe is just chill all around. People were either high or drunk and that was pretty cool. G eazy is a phenomenal performer and artists and I recommend everybody should go and see him! Between his songs he'll open up to the croud about his life and his whole story he tells ever since he was a little boy was amazing. I honestly recommend anybody to go to a g eazy concert.

  • I first saw G-Eazy at Coachella and I didn't really know a lot of his music but I'd heard a lot of good things about it. I was excited to see what everyone was talking about and when he finally came out, the energy that he provided made it so much fun that I didn't feel like I needed to know every song to enjoy the show. He's a really good performer and his songs are catchy and have awesome beats so when I had the opportunity to see him again on The Endless Summer Tour in San Diego of course I took it! I expected it to be as hyped as his set at Coachella and he definitely did not disappoint. The crowd loved every minute of it and I can for sure say that I'm a soldified G-Eazy fan now.

  • After some hesitation here and there on whether to see this guy, I broke down last minute I bought some front close seats after finding a solid deal online. And you know what, I wasn't expecting the greatest show, but I was extremely impressed by the end of it. G-Eazy probably had the most energy at his concert than any other I've seen before, and I had a blast at it. His set was lengthy and he killed seemingly every song, and even the ones I couldn't recognize I still had a lot of fun with. Definitely worth the price, and would definitely see again.

  • G-easy was so disrespectful to his fans. He came and didn't even sing a full song he sang 2 verses and then went to his private room. He didn't take pictures with anyone didn't even sing his most famous songs. Only one song in his new album which was so disappointing. Didn't even engage with th fans just sang for 5 minutes and left. So disappointed thought he was for the fans because he was one of us not too long ago. As a fan that has followed him since pay for you I expected more from him.

    Sincerely,

    G-eazy's #1 fan

  • Amazing show at New Parrish. Concert was put on for charity at the 'first stage (he) ever set foot on' was how he put it. Was the most intimate concert I have ever been to, not because of the size but because you felt like he was completely involved with and in tune with the audience, as well as being totally comfortable and happy to be there. He came out with his mom to watch the warm up acts from the balcony with the fans. As a performer, he's very good, would highly recommend his concert if you get a chance
