On a smooth jazz hype? then Peter White is your man. Hailing from the vibrant town of Luton, England, White plays his guitar like it is a velvet cravat rapped lightly around a slender neck, which is pecking rhythmically to the grooves that chime out from White's speakers. White has performed alongside many greats but is perhaps best known for his 20-year collaboration with Al Stewart, who gave White a go at a performance after one of his band members dropped out. He has also worked with the singer Basia Trzetrzelewska, and his brother Danny White, forming the group Matt Bianco, although this was a short-lived affair as Basia ands broth left to launch the singer's solo career. White's solo efforts have been favourites amongst jazz DJs and smooth jazz radio stations, releasing 13 albums with the last being "Here We Go" which came out in 2012.
Peter often uses a nylon guitar, which helps to create his soft, delicate tone. He performs regularly in various outfits but always maintaining his delectably smooth guitar style, with gentle but nimble scalic runs and jazzy chordal harmonies. Seeing him play at the Samsung Hall in Philippines, his stage demeanour was full of humour, reacting to his licks as if arriving from another source, pantomiming confusion. Yet clearly the soul lives within White himself, offering the audience jazz which simply could not be smoother.
I've seen Peter White 5 or 6 times over the past 20 years. I'm a BIG fan of him!! Last year, he played at Andiomos in Warren, MI, and was great. Actually he headlined and played most of the night. Yesterday,when I saw him again at Andiomos, he held back a little, played less, and it was still a super show. Richard Elliott, who also starred, was exceptional---a blow out-- and mesmerized the crowd. Perhaps Peter held back to give more credit to Eliott and the other group. Whichever, The best show ever for my wife and I-- we enjoyed the variety of performances and it was different, but wonderful.
Peter's Honolulu concert was wonderful.it was the first time for me but the second time for my thrilled girlfriend. A friend who also plays the guitar accompanied us. Being at three different levels of appreciation we were thoroughly happy with the music, venue, acoustics and all. Peter is so genuine, humble, and presents as a sweet, goofy, man. He was accompanied by great drummer, bass guitarist, keyboardist, and saxophonist. Michael Paula was awesome. Their antics together made for a fantastic concert and developed my appreciation for instrumental music.
High energy show with Peter playing everthing from his own compositions to the Isley brothers, Stevie wonder and Paul mc carteney...Peter also brought with him four amassing musicians, each a master of his instrument...this is my second visit to the glenora winery to see Peter and can't wait to see him there again..Peter doesn't play in Canada so my wife and I always have to travel to see him at a close border venue..if you haven't seen him or heard his music then you need to treat yourself to an artist who is a master of his niche in the Jazz world....
The music and venue were absolutely fabulous. Would highly recommend both! Peter moved about the crowd and was quite engaging. His play was flawless as was Mark Anyone's and the rest of the band. The song selection was great. The venue was superb but expensive on the drink and food side. Make sure you eat elsewhere before arriving at the show. Arrive early to get a good seat as the line starts forming several hours before show. May want to bring temp folding chairs and umbrella for line (standing & heat).
Awesome awesome awesome music people enjoyed Peter White Phil Denny I had an opportunity to talk to Peter about a song he sang what does it take to win your love my uncle Johnny Bristol wrote that song when I was a kid for Motown and Junior Walker & the All-Stars back in the day. Peter told me that he liked my uncle's music hang on in there baby by Johnny Bristol back in the Disco days thank you Peter for giving me the opportunity to talk with you. I mentioned to Peter that that Sidekick is awesome
The Peter White show was amazing. I'm 58 years young and still can't believe how great Peter White and other musicians are with there instruments.
Entertaining and talent wise one of the best concerts I've been to in a long time.
The soiled Dove is an excellent venue for jazz concerts. Sat in the silver section, perfect seating for the show.
Staff was great, food and drinks very good. My girlfriend and I are planning many more trips to see concerts at the soiled dove. Good evening experience.
Long awaited evening that did not disappoint. Great venue, first visit and we will be back. Peter White has been a favourite artist for a while and this was the first time to see him live. He played some of his well known melodies and some new ones, great mix. It was so good it has put me off going to larger venues where all too often you end up seeing the artist on a video screen as they are so far away. Loved it. Thanks
I saw Peter in phila.at Penns landing,what a concert he absolutely brought the house down,then ran into him in the men's room what a great guy in real life,big difference from most big time personalties,down to earth,and his music is crazy good,wish he played in my area

Peter White was AWESOME! It was New Years Eve and the atmosphere was great. Peter and his awesome band tore it up on stage. He played a lot of his jams and played extra songs after 12 AM. Afterwards he hung out and was very nice and had a couple drinks with us. He's an awesome musician but a great man.
