  After eight concerts I can't still get enough of this funky, jazzy and dance beats band. And what a nice setlist was played at this gig at the great venue Tivoli Vredenburg in Utrecht. Some songs of their new album Pleasure Center and some funky and swinging older songs. Kraak & Smaak line-up this evening: Oscar de Jong - Keys (as always a star in improvising with his nice and jazzy Rhodes key sounds), Wim Plug - DJ (he made the sounds and effects feel complete), Ivar - Singer and Guitars (What a great voice and huge energy), Berenice van Leer - Singer (what a nice voice and excellent performance), Joris Feiertag - Drums (he is driving everyone to the limit with his very rhythmic beats) and Marc Kraak - Bass. Marc is recently added to the band and his solo at the intro of Mountain Top was so good, that the audience was getting more and more exited.

  Setlist: Pleasure Center (Intro), In Plain Sight, I Think, Toxic Love Affair, Sweet Time, Squeeze Me, I'll Be Loving You, Twilight, My Mind's Made Up (feat. Berenice), 24HR Fling, Guilty Discomforts, Plastic People, Mountain Top, Keep Me Home, Encore: Stumble, You Don't Owe Me, Hold Back Love, Naked and Dynamite.

  This was a gig the audience will never forget!

• Kraak & Smaak are the exciting electro funk band from Holland, who have been making a name for themselves for over a decade now. They have surfaced extremely well internationally, with their career taking them to shows such as Pinkpop, SXSW, Coachella and the Good Vibrations Festival. They opened for Faithless a number of times too. No big deal.

  It was when their second album Plastic People was released when they really shot to success, gaining the attention of Kanye West. Their critical acclaim is definitely on the line as they take to the stage this afternoon, in the hope of wowing this brand new audience. Game on! “Funk Ass Rotator” opens the set with a great prowess, making this party a lively one. They manage to get the crowd involved with singing along and dancing. “No Sun in the Sky” despite being lyrically quite a downer of a song, elevates this audience, into such a good place. It’s cool when they hit up some remixes such as Jamiroquai’s “Electric Mistress” bringing the audiences’ euphoria to a whole new level.
