  Transitioning from a group of buskers to becoming an internationally recognised and successful Klezmer band with a career spanning over fifteen years, Amsterdam Klezmer Band adopt traditional Balkan and Klezmer music whilst combining it with contemporary ska, jazz, gypsy and hip-hop. Dating back to 1997, the seven piece classically trained musicians began their journey as AKB playing several street festivals across Italy, Switzerland and Slovakia, gaining popularity with agents and fans alike. Reinvigorating the kindred spirit of the legendary Jewish travelling band known as the ‘klezmorim’ who traversed across Europe two centuries previous. Comprising of clarinet, double bass, alto saxophone, banjo, trumpet, trombone, accordion and percussion, there no ends to the diversity of sound that AKB are so eloquently able to produce. With eleven studio albums under their belt and having built an incredible live reputation, Amsterdam Klezmer Band are a must see. From the streets to concert halls across Europe, the dynamism of AKB alone creates an infectious and joyous atmosphere transpiring into the audience who cannot help but clap and dance along. Fusing traditional Jewish sounds and incorporating it with contemporary jazz creates the perfect energy and soundtrack for every occasion. Amsterdam Klezmer Band are inspiring and exciting to watch as they bring the traditional into the here and now.

• Superbe concert d'un groupe toujours dans sa lignée klezmer, la grande classe, l'extase pour moi qui suit fan depuis bientôt 20 ans, avec la danse et la... BIERE...

  MAIS, oui, peut-être à cause de bière renversée sur la piste de danse, qui a entrainé des envolées lyriques puis des glissades intempestives, oui, peut-être à cause de trop d'amour revendiqué, trop d'élans de bonheur, les musiciens se sont révélés en fin de concert à la limite de l'arrogance : je trouve pour ma part très décevant cette attitude, que j'ai peut-être méritée, mais que je n'aurais jamais en aucun cas voulu provoquer, je le répète, je suis fan invétéré...

  J'AIME TROP VOTRE MUSIQUE, je suis très déçu de votre "partage" froid d'après concert : oui je voulais tous vous embrasser, oui cela se fait du côté du grand Nord de la France à Dunkerque tout le temps quand on est carnavaleux. Vous ne l'êtes pas, je ne m'en suis pas douté, fait chier.

  Je continuerai néanmoins à écouter vos musiques en boucle et, au prochain concert, j'espère que l'on pourra en rediscuter ! Yéran

• Review.

  Het was wel een leuk concert, maar het publiek in Veenendaal was niet van zijn plaats te krijgen. Ik ben gewend bij de Amsterdam Klezmer Band om een feestje te beleven. Dat was nu niet zo. Ik heb dat ook aan hun gezegd. Ik ga nu naar TivoliVredenburg voor het volgend concert.

• A very good evening with a nice ambiance and a lot of people dancing around.

  The band was playing and singing so good.

  The soup was also very good!...

  We will come back as soon as possible in Mezra.
