Biografía

  • Boys II Men - originally made up of Michael McCary, Nathan Morris, Wayna Morris and Shawn Stockman - are an R&B vocal group from America, who found fame during the 1990s with Motown Records.

Their style of music includes emotional ballads and Acapella styles. During the 1990s the group found international stardom after the release of their first number one single "End of the Road" in 1992. They are amongst the biggest names in Acappella and R&B.

The group were formerly known and started out as 'Unique Attraction', which started when two of the members started performing together at their High School. Some members joined and left throughout the early years, but with their permanent group members finally together, they changed their name to Boyz II Men.

After meeting the artist Michael Bivins, back stage at a gig and performing for him and his group mates, Bivins gave the group his number and after more contact he agreed to help produce the group. There was however some delays as the group started having personality clashes, which led to Marc Nelson leaving the group, making it a quartet.

Boys II Men's debut album was released in 1991 called "Cooleyhighharmony", and as promised was produced by Michael Bivins. "Cooleyhighharmony" did extremely well and sold over nine million copies as well as winning a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.

In 1992 the group joined MC Hammer on his "2 Legit 2 Quit" tour as his opening act and have since gone on to do many tours around the country. And in 2013, Boys II Men got given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

At the start of January in 2013, the group appeared on "The View" with "New Kids on the Block" and "98 Degrees" to announce a joint tour that would start that summer, and on February of that year they announced that they would soon stop touring and begin doing shows in Las Vegas instead.

You may have also seen that the following year they appeared at the end of an episode of "How I Met Your Mother", doing an Acapella performance. Their eleventh album "Collide" was released on October 21, 2014.

  • Boyz II Men

For over 20 years, Boyz II Men have been wooing females of all ages with songs asking for forgiveness over a mistake they made or how they want to not just have sex but actually make love later that night.

Once a foursome, the current trio, composed of Nathan and Wanya Morris along with Shawn Stockman, is continuing to make the ladies swoon with their hits and are ready to release a new album entitled, ‘Collide.’ But no matter what material the release in the future, Boyz II Men are still the guys from Philly who harmonize so beautifully that it hurts. And although they are much older these days, they haven’t lost that sweet and swoon-worthiness, especially during their shows.

While they used to headline tours, they have recently entered the boy band reunion circuit, joining 98 Degrees and New Kids on the Block. Being the show’s opener, their set was filled with their hits. While some might want something new, this night was made for nostalgia. So playing the hits was a must, and they did such a great job. On songs like "On Bended Knee" and "End of the Road" tugged at my heart strings and brought me back to the time I was at my primary school dance. But I knew I wasn’t alone.

The majority of the arena was filled with women who were in their late 20s and well into their 30s or possibly 40s. For them, Boyz II Men represent their formative teenage years. This group that got them through the hard times. And no matter how deep you were into your awkward phase when Boyz II Men broke mainstream radio and the pop charts, there is a sense of comfort in going back to that time. So I guess we should thank Boyz II Men for all of that.

  • I'm not a super fan of Boyz II Men but what's interesting is I automatically sing to their hit songs whenever I hear them. This is probably natural to all 90's kids. As I came to the lobby of the event their albums and shirts were being sold. On top of that was the meet and greet pass which cost almost the same price of the concert ticket. I hadn't availed one but did push my friends who were big fans to get that pass. And ofcourse they did! We entered the concert hall and muultiple choice questions were projected for fans to enjoy while waiting for the event to start. My friends answered almost all questions correctly which made me more interested with the band. Boyz II Men sang their hit songs with a twist which was so enjoyable. But they performed Please don't go exactly the way they did in previous concerts, which was so epic. They also gave tribute to Motown music which only them can do best I think.

The shocking moment was when they sang Nirvana and Bon Jovi songs. Nobody thought that would happen but we enjoed it though. And the sweetest was when they gave out roses while singing I'll make love to you. They ended the show with abc ccd which just wanted us to hear more. While my friends were off to meet the band, I enjoyed riding the Boyz II Men car playing their songs on the road. You'll prolly envy me if you saw my photos LOL.

Anyway, my friends who met the band said they were starstruck (who wouldn't be) and it's all their talking about til now. I'd love to see them perform again.and I'll definitely meet and greet them that time.

  • Please never allow yourselves to be produced by After9Partners, LLC again. They embarrassed you and your colleagues with their choice to use a budget sound system vs that of the arenas . Had we not known your songs as well, it was in audible. Roadies had no sense of urgency or organization in clearing acts to prepare for the next one. At 65, I've seen my fair share of concerts, and this one was the worst. Completely mishandled and disrespectful to the artists and fans with their sound and stage management . We were there for far more many hours than necessary as a result. It was painful to experience ; left early after you went on earlier than expected as you all had to catch a flight and the lineup changed., You should sue them!!! They did you NO favors. Surprised there wasn't a riot. Everyone was disappointed. Just peep the After9 partners Facebook page and you'll see. I'll catch you in Vegas and I'm sure it won't be disappointing ❤️

  • This was my first opportunity to see Boyz II Men in concert and it was well worth the wait. (In fact, I wish I had seen them much sooner.) The overall line up for the concert was excellent. The members of Boyz II Men are true artists and masters of their craft. They involved the audience. They sang the songs that made them famous, played current music, paid homage to their roots, and gave us a glimpse of what's to come. This was a high energy, high impact and unforgettable concert! It was just great!!

  • Fantastic!! They’ve still got it!

I was hesitant to go to another concert at Hammersmith apollo since Jill Scott a couple of years ago. In that concert the sound was terrible and the venture was far too hot. However, I’m glad I gave it another try because this was one of the top concerns I’ve ever been too! Their voices haven’t aged and they sang hit after hit! They even did their own Little Rock medley as well. Didn’t even know they could play the guitar like that! Amazing! So happy I was there :)

  • Boyz II Men have such great hurts, so that Japanese fan feel close to them. They come almost every year in Japan and every time, it's full. During the concert, they made me revive my teenagerhood, especially when they said before singing End of the road: "remember wher/when and who you were with when you first heard this song". They also left the public to touch them and Shawn even paused for a selfie with me while singing!

  • It was amazing. They always put on a great performance. I travel up and down the east coast just to catch their shows as often as I can. Whether its one of their regular shows or an orchestra your guaranteed to leave still a fan for many more years to come. I recommend everyone to catch them on road show or in Las Vegas. Las Vegas is a set out goal for me. They are some very humble guys. I'm a fan for life.

  • So disappointed! I bought tickets to this concert to see Boyz II Men and only actually got to see one song performed. The doors opened up at 730 and it was a long line to get in with the security being higher than usual due to the bombing in England and they started right at 730 and seemed to not care whatsoever that most of us missed them perform. It was horrible and I am really devastated.

  • Boyz II Men did not disappoint! They sung many of their old hits and a few newer songs. They also performed a Motown review, which was spectacular.

They also have quite a sense of humor, incorporating a few jokes throughout the evening. They have a classic sound, true lyrics, and awesome dance moves. One of the best shows I've been to in a long time!!!
