  The thirty something Nashville based singer-songwriter Matt Wertz didn’t even do a degree in music (he did a degree in industrial design) but that didn’t stop him from reaching a great deal of success with his songwriting over the last decade. The hi-hat is playing on the quaver beats of the bar whilst the bass drum signals the start of each bar. Before playing his most well known song “Everything’s Right”, he makes it very apparent to the audience that this song, which of course got his name out there, was featured on two movies, Employee of the Month and My Super Ex Girlfriend, which were both on the worst movie’s of 2006 list, but of course he is still grateful of these achievements, and the success that followed. He then counts into the song, with a loud and proud “Two three four!” and the clang of his fender jaguar does the talking in this infectious middle of the road timeless masterpiece. The chorus is just a simple “Hey, everything’s right I said everything’s right tonight”, and of course, the whole audience are singing along and dancing to the beauty that is this song. Wertz is a busy man. It seems as though he has had a release every year since 2001, whether it is an EP or a full album. He launches into his 80’s influenced “Get To You”, which sounds almost like an homage to Don Henley’s “Boys of Summer” which has the audience doing their best 80’s esque dancing. Wertz closes the set with “Someone Like You” absolutely bringing the house down. Definitely on the summer time playlist every year.

• Matt Wertz is an amazing entertainer and every single concert experience is different. You can tell he has a passion for what he does and he truly enjoys himself on stage. He tells funny stories and even accidentally ended up playing a Parachute song for us. If you have a chance, go see him. You won't regret it!

• Honestly such a great performance from all the performers last night I had such a great experience. So glad I was part of Parachute's first headlining concert in sac towwwn! Matt Wertz did amazing and I got to meet him that was really cool! The music was on point the set list for the night was perfect :)
