Jonathan McCollum, is a hip-hop artists from Gwinnett County, Georgia, who is better known by his stage name Rittz. Originally from Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, McCollum and his family relocated to Ginnet County when Rittz was just eight.
He was brought up with music around him, his parents being heavily into rock and roll music. His siblings were heavily into music as well, playing various instruments and visiting studios.
In his professional career, Rittz saw the peaks and troughs of the music industry, being between record deals, managers and promoters. Fortunately, in 2009, Yelawolf got in touch to help with a little financial support, but again Rittz found himself in a trough, having to work some 9 to 5 jobs to support his career. Fortunately, he released his mixtape “White Jesus” and re released it as “White Jesus: Revival”. He signed to Tech N9ne’s Strange Music record label in 2012, and started working full time on a slew of mixtapes. They released a remix of “Bloody Murdah” immediately. He released his debut album “The Life and times of Jonny Valiant on April 30th 2013 and then on October 15th that year, Rittz was fortunate enough to appear at the prestigious BET Hip Hop Awards, alongside his contemporaries, Wax, Emis Killa, Jon Connor and Rhapsody.
On September 9th 2014, Rittz released his sophomore studio album entitled “Next to Nothing”, which features appearances from Twista, Trae tha Truth, Mike Posner, Scar and B.o.B. The album went on to debut at number 14 in the Billboard 200 and achieved 21,627 units sold in it’s first week alone
Leer másWhether you’re into rap music or not, Rittz is an incredible musician and performer, and you can guarantee that he’s going to put on a great hip hop show, that I highly doubt anyone could dislike. Although his debut album was only released last year, he’s been on the music scene for many years, and is a seasoned performer who commands the stage with ease.
He opened the show with the title track from Life and Times of Jonny Valiant, which had everyone singing along right from the start. The thin that I really took away from the performance, was the way that the narrative of each song was exposed and told with some much emotion and conviction, that I took a whole new meaning from each song than what I experienced from the record. His diction was perfect, and every lyric was clear.
He played a great selection of tracks, including a couple of teasers from Next to Nothing, which hadn’t even been released. Hearing new material at shows is incredible, and I loved every moment of it. The audience were on fire from start to finish and it really was a great show.
Rittz puts on the best show! He had great opening acts some of which were local to the Salt Lake area. Also, Rittz didn't take forever to get on stage either, and as soon as he steps on stage you can feel how passionate he is about his music. He was rockin the entire venue! Oh! When a mosh broke out, they were thrown out, but as soon as he finished his song he addressed the issue. He said something along the lines of ...There will be no fighting at my shows, I came to party and have fun! I'm up here motherf*ckers, you're supposed to be paying attention to me not those stupid motherf*ckers! ...I just loved how he demanded attention and made sure to say how much he does appreciate his fans, that we could've been anywhere else but came to his show to support him and he loves his fans and makes you feel apart of something bigger. RITTZ IS AMAZING and I would definelty go to more of his shows!!
Rittz was absolutely amazing and I will definitely go see him again on his next tour. But next time I’m traveling to another city to see him. With so many terrible openers and how intense the security was. A lot of people left before Rittz even got on stage. It was really hard to sit through so many openers. Only a couple were even good. And the security were harassing people for doing nothing wrong.
This is coming from a strange music fan of about 10 years, so not as long as some of the other strange fans out there. I have seen Rittz now 3 times, 2 of which were at the Moxi, and both visits were "top of the line". Loved it. The experience was fantastic and Rittz killed it. Crew Clintel for life! Strange..... Music!
Rittz is a monster on the mic. He puts on an excellent show, gets the whole crowd jumping and makes sure everyone having a good time. Nobody can flow or rhyme like him, arguably the most skilled rapper out there. His acapellas blew my mind
It was the first time I ever saw him live and it was great! He kept everyone engaged and he sounded like I was listening to him with my headphones on. Definitely would love t see him again but maybe in a bigger setting.
Being the first time ever seeing Rittz live all I can say is his energy was incredible!
He is focused on his fans and making sure they are enjoying the show.

I will definitely be going to see Rittz live again. I was a fan before, but now l will be a supporter as long as he drops new tracks. The show just had an energy about it. It's Rittz Bitch!
The opener Sylint was amazing!!! Rittz is always good. Venue....ok. The show started 2 hours earlier then expected and that was bad bad bad. I will definitely see Rittz again in San Diego.
