Tyrese Gibson is a singer/songwriter and actor hailing from Los Angeles, California, U.S who was born on December 30th, 1978. His six albums have made him as much of a name as his highly succesful acting career has, having sold three million records since his debut in 1994.
Giving actors making forays into pop music a good name the world over, Tyrese Gibson got into show-business at the tender age of 16. He only decided that he wanted to be a singer two years earlier and after being discovered singing while on the bus, he was ushered into the spotlight by appearing in a major advert for Coca-Colla. By the mid-90’s he’d appeared in a number of modelling shoots by the likes of Guess? and Tommy Hilfiger and by 1998 he’d managed to secure a record contract with RCA Records. His first single “Nobody Else”, was a mild hit, squeaking into the top forty of the Billboard Hot 100 at number 36, but his first album would make him a true star.
His self-titled debut was released in September 1998, it debuted on the charts at number 17 and at around the same time, Tyrese became a VJ on the weekday TV Show MTV Jams. The slot on the show catapulted him to an even higher degree of popularity, meaning that his third single “Sweet Lady” reached number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, stayed on the chart for 25 weeks and netted him a Grammy award nomination for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance mere months after his twentieth birthday. His follow up album “2000 Watts” was also highly succesful, selling over 500’000 copies and being certified Gold with aplomb.
As Tyrese’s acting career grew, his music career may have slowed down but it still produced the hits, with his 2002 single “How You Gonna Act Like That” being a legitimate smash hit that peaked at number seven on the Hot 100. Ever since then, Gibson has been massively succesful at everything he’s tried his hand at. He produces hit albums and singles in his music career to this day. He headlines the Fast and Furious franchise on the silver screen. He is even a New York Times best-selling author twice over with his books “How To Get Your Own Way” and “Manology: Secret’s Of Your Man’s Mind Revealed”. It would be nauseating if he wasn’t so good at what he does, and the best way of seeing his talent is by catching him live as soon as possible. Highly recommended.

The fast and furious star; Tyrese Gibson part of the recently formed R&B trio TGT (Tyrese, Tank and Ginuwine) isn't the first choice of artists a male would consider going to see live as I was more than sure we are not his core audience, but something about this performance was sure to change my perception and earn him a spot on every single one of my playlists! Initially being shown Tyrese;the image of a grown muscular man practically drowned in baby oil with trousers so low they might as well have been shorts. I think it goes without saying that this artist didn't appeal to me in the slightest. When the opportunity arose to see him live, my normal reaction would have been a solid no, but at the time I was going through some personal complications involving love as we all do at some stage in our lives... anyway my friend was so excited to go, it got to the point he was sweating so hard I could see miniature versions of Tyrese's body in each granule of sweat dripping down his forehead, even doing what appeared to be chanting lyrics from his song 'How you gonna act like that' and I just could not understand why. If your male friend is excited to see another male covered in all types of oil, prance around on stage and flex a 6 pack you're going to begin thinking your mate likes mates, but I was wrong. Arriving to see Tyrese perform lead to the sight of nothing short of a room rammed to the brim with girls; every type of girl was available; tall, short, cute, hot, friendly, aggressive, literally ANY type of woman, even the woman you're thinking of in your head, right this instance, yes she was there and she had a twin. Tyrese's core audience of women is nothing short of a blessing, women to the left, women to the right,women all day, women all night!. Tyrese was born to fix broken hearts and get everybody in the mood for love through such breath taking performance of the songs 'Nothing on you' and 'Signs Of Love Making' never hearing a Tyrese song in my life I was singing the chorus's with so much confidence I could take his place on stage and could feel my six pack trying to burst through my belly rolls, I never knew songs like this could be so empowering. The atmosphere of a Tyrese concert is extremely positive, there is no such thing as hostility or negativity around this man. If your girlfriend, wife, side chick or even mother in law is angry with you or doesn't like you, bring her to a Tyrese concert and I can assure you everything will be fixed and life will improve drastically. I urge any of you 'manly' men to go and see Tyrese and tell me he is not one of the best, if not the best at what he does.
More recently, he’s been best-known for his appearances in movies, particularly the Fast and Furious franchise, but Tyrese Darnell Gibson actually made his name as a singer-songwriter in the R&B scene, and a successful one at that. His self-titled debut went to number one in the U.S. in 1998 and eventually went platinum, with sales well in excess of one million copies. Later, he’d release another two gold-certified records - 2000 Watts and I Wanna Go There - and whilst he never quite reached the dizzy heights of his debut album again, he retained a significant cult fanbase, continuing to pack out intimate clubs on both sides of the Atlantic with his legendarily smooth live show, which saw him backed by an expansive live band. In recent years, his focus has primarily been on his acting career, but he’s also made a return to the recording studio with Ginuwine and Tank, contemporaries of his in musical terms, as part of TGT; their debut album Three Kings went in at number three on the U.S. albums chart, helped in no small part by subtly-titled lead single ‘Sex Never Felt Better’, and their tour across their homeland - as well as select dates in the UK - met with rave reviews from fans and critics alike.
When it comes to giving everything a go, and branching out, getting out of your comfort zone, doing a little bit here and there is fair enough, but making a living out of it is another thing. This artiste, Mr. Tyrese Gibson, who you may have seen in the box office smash, Transformers, Britney Spears racy video for Toxic, or just on your music channels possibly in his song “How You Gonna Act Like That”. Jack of all trades? Yes. Master of none? NO. This guy can do it all to such a high standard. What a triple threat. He has a slow vibrato to match that of some of the veterans that preceded Tyrese in the limelight of the music world. He has definitely earned the position that he is in and he is vocal about how much he deserves it. His smash hit “How You Gonna Act Like That” lifts the roof off the venue for this anthemic slow jam. Every one is singing along with one hand in the sky and the other holding their drink. The girls want him and the guys want to be him. Stunning performance from Tyrese tonight.
Great performer but need to be on time for the show. Keep in mind that not everyone is as fortunate as he is. Yes, he work hard to get where he is at but, when you are late for your own show it doesn't look good in the eye of your fans. We all work hard for our money. I love the raw talent and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. God bless him and his family.

Tyrese was awesone. However the other two acts were awful. Show started late, stage production twam seem under prepared, which cut into Tyrese time, and he was pissed. Jodeci and August Alezni sung more sung than Tyrese August came out 1 hour late, don't know if it was a contract dispute with 50/50 entertainment or what.
Good show. The show was in Atlantic City at Boardwalk Hall. Great acoustics as the buildingst older open space and tile work allow for holding sound. He worked well with the audience and participated and allowed the audience to participate with the show
Dear tyrese !!!!! You didn’t announce the winner who was going to meet u for vip in Brooklyn it’s a shame no one knew who u pick all u keep say 36 in Brooklyn but that’s all the names was out or listen on ur page
Tank performance was really really great. I enjoyed him. He took his time and delivered a remarkable performance. Love his chemistry and flow. His engage with audience and kept everyone's attention. Good job Tank!!!
