The monthly club night 'Wonk' is coming out of the dark basement at The Social, London, and going to the sea side. Yes thats right Wonk and its residents are putting on a beach party in Margate!

Our host lau.ra and cohort of rising star resident DJs from the UK dance scene will put on something slightly different for this day time party. Still keeping it free and open to everyone, with a summertime good times vibe.

Founded and presented by lau.ra who has releases scheduled every month in 2024 with labels such as Good Company, Southern Fried Records, Defected, HOT HAUS Records, Another Rhythm, Nervous, Love Clvb as well as international touring plans in the US and beyond for 2025. She just played IMS 2024 with Fatboy Slim, and is back in Ibiza in the summer with some of her favourite DJs, DJ EZ, SAM DIVINE, and SAMMY VIRJI at Ushuaïa for Defected Tuesdays. Her guest mixes include Radio 1's iconic Essential Mix, plus mixes for Danny Howard, Jaguar, Sarah Story, Jeremiah Asiamah, Kiss FM, Big Beat Radio, Rinse, Insomniac and many more. lau.ra will also play at Glastonbury this year.

So far at Wonk we have enjoyed sets by Meg Ward, Brux, AmyElle, Leena Punks, Lawrence Hart, Jess Iszatt and many more. With Mas Qu Nada, DRIIA, Herve, and more coming up over the summer. Wonk is a free entry event to make it accessible for all at a time when expensive super clubs are becoming the norm. The music predominantly focuses on Wonky house and UK garage, but goes through tech house, breaks and beyond as well. We consciously elevate women, trans, and non-binary DJs and producers but Wonk is open to all and we welcome anyone with good taste and an open attitude. Our Wonk residents Arielle, Lex Hearth, Sasha Gigi, Surya Sen, Nova Newland and DEiTY who do a B2B session each time. Wonk aims to provide a safe and supportive space for producers and DJs to test out tunes and build relationships with their peers.
