Biography

• Mr Probz is a singer, songwriter, rapper and producer hailing from Zoetermeer, Netherlands who was born on May 15th, 1984. Since debuting he has released one studio album along with numerous singles, and is best known for his global hit “Waves”.

  Born Dennis Princewell Stehr to Danish and Antillian parents, Mr Probz's first dabbled with hip-hop culture at a young age, and unlike most rappers, actually got into it as a graffiti artist originally before branching out into rap as he got older. However, Probz is nothing if not a polymath, and he actually got a big break in his home country thanks to an acting role in the film Bolletjes Blues, which got him noticed by a variety of Dutch indie labels. He began releasing a steady stream of independent singles and E.Ps on whatever labels that would have him until 2010, when he won the BNN/State Award for Best New Artist, one of the very, very few acts to ever do that while still technically unsigned. A couple of months after his success at the BNN/State Awards he was snapped up by Epic Records, who released his debut album, “The Treatment” in September 2013.

  While the album wasn't a huge success, mostly due to the fact that Probz released it for free on his Soundcloud account, the following November saw him become a genuine sensation with the release of his single “Waves”. Over the next six months he saw the track go from a top ten hit in his home country, to a charting hit all over the world, and then get remixed by German producer Robin Shulz. The remix would go on to become an even bigger hit, topping the charts in seven countries including Germany and the UK, and reaching the top 15 of the Billboard Hot 100 to boot. Ever since then, Probz has remained one of the biggest acts in Dutch pop, with his follow up to “Waves”, “Nothing Really Matters”, becoming his first ever number one hit in his home country. With the world at his feet, and his best days ahead of him, Mr Probz comes highly recommended.
