  I traveled from Brighton to Edinburgh just for this gig so I was really looking forward to it but also a little nervous as I had never seen them live before and didn't want to be disappointed, I needn't have worried! I thought I had been to my best gig of the year when I went to see Thee Oh Sees in July but with no disrespect intended, I was wrong. I knew tracks like remurdered, rano piano, Mogwai fear Satan and Like Herod but hearing them live was a whole new experience. They absolutely nailed every single track and the crowd loved it all. Mogwai's music is the sonic equivalent to being hit in the head with a large axe. If you do not like very, VERY loud music this might not be the band for you but for everyone else GO SEE THEM!

• Slow Burning through to glorious finale

  Blighted by some poor sound- there was appalling resonance from the bass- was a slow start but as they moved through the gears and the gig progressed exploded into a maelstrom of aural assault culminating in a wonderful coruscating “My Father My King” encore. Highlights along the way were “ Old Poisons” “Remurdered” and a sublime “Mogwai fear Satan”. I saw this gig with a newbie and he was blown away. Good to see Martin back on drums for the encore though I’ve really enjoyed the energy Cat has bought to the band. Any chance of a dual drum approach in the future a la Radiohead??

• I've been a fan of Mogwai for 20 years and saw them for the first time at this concert, they were,as expected awesome and me and my wife thourghly enjoyed it. Great set list and light show! Top class by The Young Team. Also they were the loudest band I have EVER seen. Would go again immediately!!!
