  After having rise to fame via Youtube like so many younger artists have done in modern days including Justin Bieber, Irma Pany (who is simply known as Irma) had to work hard in order to get noticed. She grew up in Cameroon and then moved to France, but despite her French heritage, sings her songs in English... something which I can't help but admire. After signing for Universal Republic Records, Irma released her début album to an astounding response, hitting number six in the France Music Charts whilst her leading single 'I Know' entered at number two.

  Performing at Festival Fnac in Paris, it's easy to see why Irma is so popular with her audience. She has a magnificent tone to her voice and the fact that she can play guitar as well makes her even more impressive. The opening song had everything to it: a funky riff in the chorus (which had a reggae beat that you could really get your foot tapping to) and also a slow interlude which allowed Irma to show off her vocal range. She is comfortable hitting high and low notes, which she demonstrated in her following song. There was also no loud instruments to distract the attention away from her stunning voice which had a very clean quality to it. Hearing it live was an absolute pleasure!

  With the crowd in the palm of her hand, there's not much that Irma can do wrong. As long as she keeps her music stripped back (I could listen to her for hours with just a guitar and a microphone) then I can see her becoming even more successful over the next few years!
