Biography

  • Saving Abel is an American rock music group from Corinth, Mississippi which currently consists of Scott Austin, Jason Null, Scott Bartlett, Eric Taylor and Steven Pulley.

Having formed in 2004 Saving Abel was originally a duo of Jared Weeks and Jason Null, the band began working on material and recordings whilst establishing a solid line up in the early days. An early song entitled 'Addicted' gained attention from Virgin Records and after watching the band perform they were offered a deal to record and release their debut album. Addicted would go on to be their highest charting US Single, peaking at #20. Their self titled release was a chart success, breaking the top 50 of the US Billboard and peaking within the top 10 of the Rock & Indie charts. On the back of this release the band were offered the opportunity to tour with Canadian rock band Nickelback at huge outdoor venues gaining them exposure and experience.

Their second album 'Miss America' was also released through Virgin Records and debuted at #24 on the Billboard chart whilst topping the US Rock chart. It featured two top ten singles on the US Rock chart 'The Sex Is Good' and 'Stupid Girl (Only In Hollywood)'. The third album 'Bringing Down The Giant' failed to match the chart placings of the first records without the support of Virgin. On December 26, 2013 both lead singer Jared Weeks and drummer Michael McManus announced their departure from the band through social media outlets. Saving Abel has continued since then, releasing 'Blood Stained Revolution' in November 2014.

Live reviews

  • Saving Abel

They put on an awesome show. And they are very down to earth. My son actually got snatched up by the owner of the theatre or one of his friends and he got to watch the entire show from side stage. This was his very first concert and it was his 14th birthday. I have never seen him so excited. I thought it was really awesome of them to stay afterwards too. They told everyone that they liked our energy so much that they were not leaving till they got a chance to meet everyone that wanted to meet them. And they did. They talked to a line of people from the entire concert and signed autographs for free and took pictures with every single person and said that they would be posted on their Facebook. Can't wait to see them. They even signed my kids stinky shoes. This band is AWESOME. They said that they will be coming back to Grants Pass Or again and I will definitely be there. Also Nelisium was just as amazing. I see them going places. I would buy any CD they put out. For only being 3 of them the energy they gave off was AMAZING. And they brought Safety Dance back to life. Loved the whole experience. Would watch them again and again.

  • Mississippi rockers Saving Abel may be a lead singer down, but they are not letting that affect their impassioned live performance. Scott Austen, formerly of Trash The Band is doing a fantastic job filling the shoes of Jared Weeks and the fans are responsive and receptive to his performance style.

The band has recorded an album with Scott so a large amount of tonight's setlist is lifted from 'Blood Stained Revolution'. Therefore the new lineup really jams well together and perform as one skilled musical piece of machinery. The crowd is full of devoted fans who jump, dance, cheer and sing on the instruction of the band.

Older singles are included tonight such as 'Drowning (Face Down)' and 'Bringing Down the Giant' which Austen performs note perfect and the crowd applaud rapturously. Hitting their stride, the group appears confident onstage knowing that they still have the fans support and by the last track 'Addicted' there is no doubt that Saving Abel will now go from strength to strength.

  • They are an awesome group. I met them the first night Scotty and Steven joined the band at the machine shop. They are very down to earth love their fans and interact with them in more ways then most bands I see. They always love to come back out after shows and show their fans how much they appriciate them. I've seen them several times since and they have given my 14 year old and 10 year a night they will never forget. Just a group of guys who love to get out their and jam! I highly recommend all to get out their and see them when they are in a city near you and check out their new album blood stained revolution

  • Saving Abel simply rocked the roof off the house. The band has so much energy with lead singer Scott Austin, the dude must drink a case of Red Bull before each show. My wife is simply in love with guitarist Scott Bartlett (SB). Every time Saving Abel comes to DFW we are somewhere in the crowd, and have never been disappointed with their high energy show.

  • This was the first time I've seen Saving Abel Live. They put on a great show especially when you have a great opening band like Tantric to get the crowd started. I had a great time when in Gettysburg, Pa during Bike week 7/12/2019. I will go see them again when they are in my area. Thanks for a great show.
