  • Maggie Rose

Ok, I am definitely a fan, so my review reflects this. I don't pretend to be unbiased. I have been following Maggie Rose since she was Margaret Durante, touring summers as a teenager with a Bruce Springsteen cover band. Her You-Tube videos from back then, and the video cover of "Use Somebody" from the short period with Universal Republic, showed me she had a great voice and was a natural performer. To me, she is clearly a creative force to be reckoned with. She has overcome challenges of the music business, in particular roadblocks for women in country music and the strictures of the country music radio format. Her music is not trapped in in one genre with nuances from pop, country, R&B, funk, hip hop and rock. Her collaborative ability is remarkable. She is one of the singular musical talents of her generation, the same caliber of Bonnie Raitt or Bruce Springsteen. She is a successful recording artist, but her live show should not be missed. In person, she is polished but sings from the heart.

  • Just saw Maggie Rose this weekend (at a great venue called the SPACE in Evanston, IL) and while I have seen her in the past, it never is a dull moment when experiencing her show. This girl – who came on the scene as such a forceful talent- unbelievably gets better with every performance/record release. Her latest album, “Change the Whole Thing”, is just a fantastic compilation of head moving, feet stomping, soul wrenching songs that are better live than recorded. Her voice is unquestionably one of the best in the business (read the reviews from Rolling Stone to NBC) and her current act -supported by the colorful and talented Them Vibes- is so moving and rewarding to watch.

You MUST experience a Maggie Rose performance. Can’t think of what in the world will make you feel better than doing so!

  • Loved Maggie Rose... so awesome! We love her song It’s You... we went up front as she was beginning to play it and my guy told her this is our song! She said how about these lovebirds and ask our names and dedicated the song to us!!! We loved that and danced! Thank you Maggie, my guy was estatic!
