Biography

  • Dannic (born November 10, 1987) is the stage and recording name of Daan Romers, a Dutch DJ and record producer, hailing from Breda, Netherlands.

Born in the Dutch city of Breda, Dannic grew up listening to the sounds of his grandfather’s record collection from the age of seven. Determined to pursue music as a career, Dannic first became known for a string of hard-hitting mashups, and through honing his skills at clubs and festivals. In 2009 the DJ won the Dancetour DJ contest and subsequently played his productions to an audience of 10,000 people. With the exposure this afforded the Dutchman, Dannic released his debut solo track “Doster” on Revealed Recordings in 2012. The song earned support from heavy-weights Hardwell and Nicky Romero, and led to Dannic collaborating with Hardwell on the track “Kontiki”.

Issued on Toolroom Records in early 2013, Dannic released the track “Clobber”, which became a staple track for DJs during the WMC. Utilising his close partnership with Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings, Dannic supported label showcases at the Amsterdam Dance Event and the sell-out Reveal Recordings Canadian Bus Tour – which attends Canada’s biggest clubs. Dannic subsequently released the tacks “Viper”, “Ignite”, “Rocker” and “Blueprint” in 2013 all of which received regular club rotation. Having been voted the 74th best DJ in the world by 2013 DJ Mag, Dannic shot up the ranking in 2014 by charting at No. 30. The move highlighted the DJ and producer’s move from being a hotly-tipped up-and-coming DJ, to a revered staple of modern dance music.

With the first half of 2014 dedicated to wowing audiences at Digital Dreams in Canada, Tomorrowland in Belgium, Creamfields in the UK, and a host of other festivals across the world, Dannic also collaborated with the likes of Bright Lights, Merk & Kremont, best friend Dyro, TV Noise, and Shermanology. The DJ began 2015 with the track “Survivors” alongside Hardwell, and released the remix EP “Wait For You”.

Live reviews

  • Dannic

Daan Romers better known by his stage name Dannic is one of the Netherlands newest DJs to ride the rich wave of EDM and dance music associated with the country. The youth of the Netherlands must be constantly inspired and enthused by the huge stars continuously breaking out to worldwide success.

Although many may try, few have the same winning effects as Dannic who has carved out his own reputation in this oversaturated market. Although he is only 27, he has clearly had exposure to the dance scene and this is very obvious when it comes to his own show which is a gargantuan affair. The audience knows they are in for one huge party when it comes to his set and they are not left disappointed as Daan keeps them moving with what feels like one succinct mix of top quality dance music. The fact he is yet to release a debut album does not effect the show at all as he tests out new material alongside the solid singles and remixes all to startling reaction from the roaring crowds.

  • Dannic is a fresh faced DJ who had the pleasure of performing his electronic dance music at Tomorrowland this year. The audience is beside themselves with excitement with his music being like we’re on board a rollercoaster. There is such a dramatic build up until the drop. There is a remix of Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics that has everyone jumping up and down, in the rowdiest of fashion. He is a Tomorrowland alumnus having played on this stage a couple of times before. I wonder what is next for this DJ. I’ve got to be honest though, once you have seen one song, you’ve seen the rest of the set with it firmly staying around about the 130 bpm mark, he blasts through some of the summer smashes of this year such as “Summer” by Calvin Harris which makes this audience dance and sing along. By the end, I’m thinking I should’ve just drank a whole lot more before this set.
