Hailing from Chicago, the electropunk sister duo Krewella are active vocal inspirations through their music and editorials. Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf have grown into symbols of female empowerment - personified work ethic that transcended social and gender stigmas to ultimately achieve their dream.
With heavy rock and dance influences, the girls first burst onto the scene with their Play Hard EP in 2011. Quickly amassing almost half a billion plays, they were pioneers in a male-dominated music industry, securing major club residencies and festival appearances. Their rebellious fashion and attitude inspired their millions of fans to embrace themselves, and they formed an obsessed collective affectionately self-dubbed as the #KREW.
With coverage from publications like the New York Times and Rolling Stone, Krewella caught the world's attention as the new age rock stars of this millennial generation. After Super Bowl spots and sold out headlining shows, Jahan and Yasmine were trail blazers for artists in the electronic genre - with their unapologetic female swagger in tow.
With the platinum hit 'Alive' under their belt, Krewella has charted hundreds of millions of streams while they have evolved into a live rock / dance hybrid act. With their versatility in their songwriting and vocal performance, the sisters' work with producers of all genres gives them the freedom to redefine their sound. Read more2010 is the year I first heard of this DJ group called Krewella. First thoughts were, "wow."
Google search, here I come.
I was immediately on board; I was full throttle, pedal to the floor hooked on the beautiful girls, Jahan and Yasmine, the mind blowing creativity of Rainman, and the amazing live music they produced together as a team.
I was off like a rocket, downloading, YouTubing, searching, searching, learning, listening, searching; I was so intrigued. The level of talent, attraction, and need to see them live was incredible.
After my crash course in Krewella 101 I found myself attending shows, one after another, and boy, was it worth it. Their following was small at the time but I was up close and personal at every show which great in and of itself. Getting the opportunity to see an incredible group develop before your eyes is what I call, “prime time.” They are unaltered by the public or people’s opinions, it I attended multiple shows in Cincinnati, Chicago, Athens, Columbus, and New York. Not only is their performances emotional and powerful, members of Krewella are simply good people. I had the pleasure of meeting Yasmine and Rainman just outside the performance tent in Cincinnati at Fountain Square for the Free Summer Concert Series. They both are very real and appreciative of the fans they have. I even managed to get a kiss on the cheek from Yasmine, “talk about amazing.”
The Free show in Cincinnati was special because it was close proximity to the crowd, it was very engaging and "in your face performance." In other words, it was outstanding and they left it all out there for us. They played for approximately an hour mixing and mashing up tracks together I've never heard. The style that was incorporated was so fresh and new it sucked us all in from the beginning. I said to myself, "I'm witnessing a brand new DJ group that is going to take the EDM scene by storm." A couple short years later, they did just that, bigger and better than ever.
Needless to say I’m a huge fan in all aspects of the group. They do a tremendous job in entertaining people to the fullest. I highly recommend making it to a show and supporting their work. I'd pay any ticket price to catch their show. They deserve it and it's worth every penny. They are always an amazing live show. Always.

Sisters Jahan Yousaf and Yasmine Yousaf otherwise known as Krewella have been making waves since they exploded onto the dance scene in 2007. Their infectious personalities and momentous live show that crosses genres including dub step, hard style, techno and house has seen their reputation sky rocket as quickly as their names on lineup posters.
Having graced the stages of Tomorrowland and Lollapalooza, the girls have had quite the education in what makes great dance music and their tight performance has brought revellers from all corners of the festival to see them. They act as both vocalists and DJs as they thrash out during 'Play Hard' whilst the audience bounces below like a sea of electro worshippers.
For a pair of sisters, the girls hold their own onstage and perform with an intensity that would intimidate even the most veteran of DJ. Encouraged by the frenzied excitement of the crowd the girls finish on 'Alive' before thanking them for one of the best parties they have ever experienced and the sentiment is reciprocated by the dancing revellers.
What an awesome show. I've seen a lot of EDM artists perform and not one has come close to the show these two sisters put on. They have so much energy and a true love for what they do. When they're on stage you literally cannot take your eyes off of them and you have no choice but to stay on your feet the entire performance. Naturally it helps that their music is amazing and speaks to their fan base, but this duo really knows how to make the audience feel like the only reason they're performing is to share their music with us. They're worth going to see over and over.

Details: This duo had non-stop energy and they played all their greatest songs. The sound was amazing. LOVED the lasers, light show and stage set. The venue choice was A ; The Aragon Ballroom is one of my favorite places. I would highly recommend and definitely see Krewella in concert again. P.S. Bring sunglasses!
Omg krewella always puts on a fire show they never disappoint second time seeing them and i had the best time cant wait till they come back to san Francisco next time im definitely going to buy meet and greets i love them so much best djs in the game for reals wish i could relive that night.thank you krewella for a dope night u girls are so talented.
Jahan and Yasmine know how to really put a show. I loved it. 5 out of 5 stars. They are the best EDM group out there. a must go see and let the girls know you support them by purchasing some merch. Available at krewella.com Park City Live was a moment of a life time. The next time they are in town. Your crazy not to go see them. Love ya Ladies!
Krewella's combination of old music with hard dance melodies and their new music with it's own sound that makes it Krewella's, their mix of songs outside of their own that was remixed, and their stage presence was overall incredible! I will be seeing them every time they come to my area! Much love to these two!
The show was absolutely amazing. I was front row and Jahan held my hand and at a different time jahan also pointed at me. They played all their amazing songs and the show could not have been better. This was easily the best set I have ever seen and I'm still in awe. I love you krewella
It was sooo awesome and full of energy, nothing less was expected! I am a huge fan and being able to see them so up close and personal, that I could practically lick the stage... was a dream come true!!! I can't wait for them to come back to my city!
Ehh. Shame on me for going to a club to see a band. They came on at 12:30am, I got there at 10:15.
High energy show they were moving around the whole tone engaging the audience. No singing though, guess I learned what a dj set is the hard way.
