  Hip Hop legend Sean Price, became known to rap fans around the world under his previous moniker “Ruck”, when he was a member of New York Rap groups “Boot Camp Clik” and “Heltah Skeltah.” In recent years Price took his distinct gravelly Brooklyn tone to solo projects, with 3 LP’s under his belt since 2005, his most recent album being 2012’s “Mic Tyson”, which took 5 years to produce.

  Price converted to Islam in 2009 and raps about his faith in tracks such as “Haraam”, whilst most of his tracks are what would be considered “Old School” or 90’s Hip Hop. The MC seems to flatly refuse modern day rap, with lyrics such as “Young dummies, can’t spar, No life, my flow tight, like your pants are” on recent track “Genesis of the Omega”

  In terms of his live performance the veteran keeps it OG and simple, his large frame cutting a strong image on stage as he raps into the mic barely moving, not that the crowd mind, as they rap back gleefully to Price whenever he instructs them to.

  A Sean Price concert is a must for any hip-hop aficionado and I for one cannot wait for his upcoming UK show!
