Sincerity and grateful. The Mighty Oaks have this special and relaxing appearance. On the first sight Ian could appear as cool because he's muscled, but when he starts to smile it's all okay. Then he could be your brother, like they are, look like and sing about.
In the first place the album sounded a bit poppy and monotonous, like 'Don't Lie to Me' and 'Burn'. But when heard live I started to realize it wasn't. The whole atmosphere, the raw voice, the themes..
They bring such a vibe, it made the crowd clap, yell and scream for a spontaneous 5 minutes. (Not even on the encore)
Themes about fulfilling your dreams, be honest, do what you want and love who you love can make everyone 'Dreamers'. It all comes together in 'Raise a Glass', they call it their 'Zusammenbringing' or something:
Raise a glass. Raise another.
One to our past. And to what we'll discover.
The days pass by, a blur in time.
So get it in your head, and keep in mind that...

Mighty Oaks is a Berlin based folk band that has only been together for a modest four years. They make such a stunning sound together with an acoustically driven style of playing similar to that of an American band such as Augustana or Goo Goo Dolls, with huge choruses filled with beautiful counter melodies. Throughout this set, the audience sings along with every chorus at the very least, I mean rightly so, they are so darn catchy! Some real highlights are songs such as “Just One Day” and “Back to You” which Claudio Donzelli says is about being nice to people. The chorus is simply made up of ohh’s and ahh’s but it’s so catchy and I am truly drawn in to this fantastic sound that they make together, as it is truly magical and would absolutely recommend going to see them live. It is such a great experience. I’m definitely going to have to find a vinyl of their latest album! So worth it.
I was looking forward to the concert and was hoping it would be good; it was not good it was BRILLIANT!. They harmonised well and played their instruments brilliantly. It was a great atmosphere and they are better live than on recorded media; shooting myself in the foot because the concert will see the tickets fly out the box office. Band had a great sense of humour and we're friendly. Musicianship was excellent and I can only say if you get the chance go and see them because you will regret it if you do not. On my to see list again. Excelled my expectations and it was a fantastic night. Thank you Mighty Oaks for a brilliant concert.
Best concert I've seen in years!!! These guys really know how to put on a show... Normally when you go to a concert it's hard to sing along to your favorite tunes.. but not with this band... Their music is same whether it is LIVE or recorded.. The songs come from the heart and can be very emotional.. We live on Horsehead Bay and when they opened with that song tears filled my eyes... I felt so much pride and joy that they wrote about Horsehead and feel the same way I do about it... No matter how far you go there will never be any place like home..
Love love love Mighty Oaks and can't wait to see them again...
Mega Hammer Konzert!
Richtig gut gelungen, richtig emotional, tolle Stimmung, die leute waren gut drauf und ich konnte bei jedem lied mitsingen und ich hatte echt nicht gedacht das die live noch besser sind als aufm Audio.
Cool, dass wir nach dem Konzert noch mit den reden konnten und alles, sind alles total sympathische und bodenständige Jungs die spaß an ihrer Musik haben.
Habt ihr gut gemacht ;) sehen uns im Tempodrom
It was an amazing concert. Unfortunately, Craig got so sick after the second song that he had to leave the stage. But the band did the best and created a really nice acoustic set. Improvising a new outline for the night the gave us such a personal and unforgettable evening. It was sad that Craig got sick but it made the concert really special and you could see that all of the band members are really talented musicians.
I have been waiting for the Mighty Oaks to come to Canada for years and they did not disappoint!! An amazing band. The venue was small and intimate which you wouldn't get at their big shows in Europe. They were genuine, down to earth and humble guys. Such a good show! If you do not know this band you should! Canada loves the Mighty Oaks!!
The most amazing show I have ever been to in my life. Hands down! Great crowd pleasers they love there fans and actually love there music! The venue was small but perfect because e were all able to get close and all able to get a full effect of the concert. At the end of the day I would see them over and over again
Saw them for the first time at Bush Hall, was simply blown away! I cried, I laughed, and the crowd was amazing. Venue was incredible. felt like a living room concert! I think I actually prefer the acoustic version of the songs now. The guys were so relaxed and just incredibly sincere, never seen anything like it.
