With a name like TOPS, I will not lie I did not expect the best things from this band, but maybe I am wrong for prejudging because my mind was changed as soon as the lead singer Jane Penny began singing.
Fresh out of Canada the Indie rock band are super talented, as they play with such ease. As they mix easy going baselines with a soft and supple voice, you can not help but fall in love with the band, when they are on stage you get a glimpse of how much fun they truly have when you are together and you just want to be a part of it!
They are just so relaxed, the crowd was very welcoming towards the band and even attempted to dance along to the bands song 'Change of Heart' this was the highlight of the concert for me, because the song is so humbling and it just reminds me of summer. You can easily get lost in the lyrics and calming chords strummed by the band.
I would recommend all to go and listen to the dreamy band, Indie music at it's very heights is pulled off better than no other band but TOPS!
TOPS! I'm in love. What a band! It felt like an overall great performance from every member (tho I was definitely amazed by the singing qualities of the lead singer Jane Penny). I'm glad I saw them in a relatively small location.
So GO and see them live, they're amazing!
Hope they'll be back in Hamburg, Germany at some point <3
You should go out of your way to go see TOPS! The band is full of so much energy that isn't always apparent when listening to the studio releases of their songs. They definitely put on an amazing performance and I will make sure to catch them live again any chance I get.
If you are a breeder-- A tall man, who likes to protect his woman, Tops will deliver. Candy pop for creepy people!!! Avoid them if you want something that moves on a level that engages your white matter.
Love TOPS. Soft rock of the DeMarco and Captured Tracks sort of aesthetic but more sexy. If you like their recorded material don't miss the show, they sound even warmer and better live.
amazing n sweet n cool n fun n nice i loved it all. all artists were perfect and i loved how intimate the venue was. great stage presence and great night !!!!!!
