Live reviews

  • The expression "if it's too loud, then your too old," applies to one of my favorite bands, Black Flag.

They are one of those bands who have been around for awhile and being old as I am you often grow out of music you liked when you were younger. This is not the case for me. I think the band breaking up was very hard for me back then, but reading about it later it was the right thing.

I recently went to a concert where they were back together and that same fire and intensity from the eighties was still there. I remember when I was younger that in your face singing and playing that most kids don't get these days. Back in the day they played small venues where you could be right next to the stage and when Rollings is screaming right in your face you sing along with the song. Those were the days.

Today they still have that same head swinging and intensity, but as you get older so do the fans. There are some younger fans who are in front, but the show I went to had many of the older fans in the back swaying while the younger fans stayed closer to the stage. It was good to hear them again after so many years.

Unlike other bands I feel they have lyrics that you can understand and feel, instead of these wana be singers who repeat themselves over and over again because they have nothing genuine to say. When your at a black flag concert you can hear and feel the genuine feelings that are being portrayed. I think this still makes them one of the greats in my opinion.

  • Black Flag (aka Greg Ginn and three other dudes) kicked serious ass at the show. The venue was out in the middle of nowhere in north Wisconsin and you could feel that everyone present had driven a ways in order to attend just because we all love Black Flag so much. I mean I never thought I would be able to see Black Flag live in my life! The vocalist was a lot of fun, the bass player was on point and the drummer ruled. All in all it was a great show that left me glowing and full of energy. I would totally recommend seeing these guys if you get the chance. Fuck yeah Black Flag thanks for coming through through our dumpy little neck of the woods and giving us punks who live out here a break from the everyday back woods kick shit that goes on out here in the forested counties of North Wisconsin.

  • The concert was cancelled a couple weeks before the event. Very sad. Was looking forward to seeing this punk classic from my California youth here in Italy. Money was refunded & hotel allowed cancellation for no charge. Hope they come back

  • I’ve been to many Black Flag shows and can say this…if you miss the chance to see them LIVE, you missed, in my opinion, one of the BEST RAW ENERGY BANDS to grace a stage. THEY ARE LIGHTS OUT!!!

  • Q and Z expo center, The Linecutters, and Black Flag were all phenomenal! Once in a lifetime opportunity to see one of the greatest punk bands of all time. Can't wait to see them again!

  • Black Flag was pretty solid. Good to see Gregg Ginn still tearing it up.

Didn't care much for Cutters. Vacation opened the show and they rocked!I look forward to seeing them again.

  • AWESOME show, Mike Vallely killed it on vocals and is a badass! Gregg great as always. Almost didn't go because of several negative comments but so glad we went. Don't miss it...
