Flight Facilities is an electronic producer duo made up of Hugo Gruzman and James Lyell, who also perform as Hugo and Jimmy. They come from Sydney, Australia.
The duo have been active on the music scene since 2009 but have only started achieving mainstream fame recently, around 2014. They mix songs by other artists, including a string of highly popular singers such as Kylie Minogue, and craft them in to their own original mix. They began mixing in 2009 and during this time predominantly played for the nightlife scene in their hometown of Sydney, at various elite clubs. Their first original song was called ‘Crave You’ and was a big hit in Australia, so much so that they took their act to Tokyo, Japan to play at clubs there. Their first studio album, with Future Classic Label, was called ‘Down to Earth’ and was released 14 October 2014. It peaked at the number three spot in the Australian charts, becoming an instant hit. Their biggest single to date is ‘Clair de Lune’.
The duo have gained some mainstream attention outside of Australia recently after their single ‘Shine A Light’ (a remix) was featured in the fifth Grand Theft Auto game, earning the pair some well-deserved recognition. They have also won some awards for their mixes, most notably a J-Award for the music video for their single ‘Foreign Language’.

'Down To Earth' was a huge success in their native Australia partly helped by the number of all-star appearances including Kylie Minogue, Owl Eyes and Emma Louise. Now having amassed critical and commercial acclaim, Flight Facilities confidently take any stage and turn it into a frenzied and intense electro show. Their upbeat sounds echo round the room and the audience quickly transforms to a sweating, bouncing mass as the band reproduce shining tracks such as 'Sunshine' and 'Crave You' in quick succession.
A fun live performance throughout, the duo has great reaction with their crowd which is repaid in mass singalong to the likes of 'Down To Earth' and finale 'Foreign Language'. A band certainly tipped for global domination, catch Flight Facilities whilst you can.
This Australian dance duo, who like to maintain their anonymity wherever possible, bring the club to life wherever they appear. We had a fantastic time at their show, and despite the fact that the warm up acts were not quite our cup of tea, when Flight Facilities appeared the night really took off! The whole crowd loved it and danced along in a sweating frenzy for the entirety of Flight Facilities’ set. Next time you have a chance to see them, don’t hesitate to go: prepare yourself for a great night!!
It was one of the best events I've been to. They were absolutely fantastic. It was a great time. The opening group, Beat Connection, had some technical difficulties, but they recovered and made some awesome music. It really was a big dance party, and the dj's came out in costume and were smiling the whole time, enjoying their awesome jobs. Any other concert I'll go to will have a hard time measuring up.
Flight Facilities teamed with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra was a gig I'd been looking forward to for some time and I was not disappointed. The venue and atmosphere were fantastic, the live vocal performances were flawless and it's something I will not forget for a long time. If the two join forces again I'll be there in a heartbeat.
My partner and I got there early and the NOVO to have some drinks and unwind. FF came on around 11 and they tore the house up! The energy was amazing an all the singers were just unbelievable. It was one amazing song after another and this Venus is so fun and intimate. I'm still moving and grooving.
Flight Facilities put on an amazingly complete show. From their live vocalists,plane themed stage design and well choreographed lighting show, from the minute we grabbed our seats til the moment we left, the show was spectacular. They not only played their biggest hits, but a lot of new stuff too.
This was one of my favourite concerts of all time. The venue, the crowd, the sound and the effects were all perfect. The energy was electric on stage and it permeated the room. We loved every minute of it!
Loved it! Enthusiastic band with live performances from talented and beautiful singers. I especially loved the suspenders. Kept me dancing and happy. Not a super long show, but very satisfying.
Incredible. Amazing. Tears of joy. Love. Peace. Happiness. Thank You! When Owl Eyes sings she captures the heart of the audience. I hope we get to see them again. The staff was wonderful!
Not much to say about this show. They are absolutely unbelievable and I fall more and more in love with them each time I see them. Can't wait for the next show <3
