  • Enjambre

One of the greatest parts about music is that it crosses any and all language barriers. In the case of the band Enjambre (Spanish for “swarm”) I didn’t have to understand Spanish in order to enjoy watching them perform their songs live. Despite having a few member changes, the alternative rock band continues to travel internationally to ensure that their fans get a chance to see them perform.

My lack of language understanding allowed me to pay attention to other things. Members Luis Humberto Navejas, Navejas Rafael, José Julián Navejas, Ángel Sánchez, Javier Mejia jam together, tour together and as such, have a great live chemistry. They share an extreme love and passion for their craft and give their fans exactly what they want; in fact, they drive the girls mad with how much the girls seemed to be screaming. While I did not understand what the songs were about, there was an obvious connection that the fans had with the lyrics of the songs; a connection that they felt deeply, magnified by the passion with which the band performed. They spoke quite a bit between songs, and exchanged a bit of banter between each other. It really was quite an experience to see.
