  • William Elliott Whitmore

Was a great show. Very energetic and included the crowd into the show. I will see him if he ever gets close to the border again. Cannot wait for the new album!

  • The distinctive blues voice of William Elliott Whitmore washed over the auditorium, and everyone was immediately silent. He was sat centre stage with his banjo, but opened with an a cappella song, one he said was new and unreleased which was awesome! The venue was intimate and cosy, and he invited us to sit on the floor for the beginning of the concert. Little things like that are what makes concerts memorable, and sitting cross legged singing along to Whitmore is something I definitely won’t forget any time soon! He then moved on to tracks with his banjo and foot tambourine, and got everyone on their feet dancing along. He played tracks from his older albums, visiting The Jarrett Mitchell Demo Album, and played one or two tracks from most albums, before reaching Field Songs, his most recent album, and playing a handful of songs from there.

The thing about seeing Whitmore live, is he’s a great improviser, and you see loads of cool ways he uses his banjo and voice that are absent on the recording. It was a great show, he’s a very talented artist, I really advise checking him out live!
